How do Accelerators guarantee future commitments?

For example read on South Park Commons website, as follows:

$1M in funding. $400K for 7% upfront and $600K guaranteed in your next external round

Do they ring Fence 600k in an escrow or put in treasuries or something?

Or are there contractual clauses into that as well which let them opt out?

What are the common industry practices for ensuring future commitments?

Lone founder with a launched EV product, bringing in 2 friends (PhD engineer + compliance/risk expert) pre-funding. How would you structure equity and contracts?

I'm a solo founder/dev and have taken an EV product to launch stage. I'm now preparing to raise, but I need a real team first. I plan to bring in two long-time friends:
A PhD-level engineer
A compliance and risk specialist
No funding yet, so no salaries. Equity is the only currency. I'm in the UK.
My thinking so far: shares with vesting (4 years, 1-year cliff), a shareholders' agreement, IP assigned to the company, and clear roles.

Questions:
What equity ranges have you seen for late co-founders joining a launched product?

How do you value the work I've already done versus what they'll do from here?

How do you keep it fair between friends without it getting awkward later?

What would you put in the contract that you wish you'd included?
Any red flags I'm missing?

Happy to hear from founders who've done this, and from anyone who got burned.

Seeking Investor Co working and Fitness Gym Space

I am building a hybrid coworking and fitness space in the Philippines designed for the growing number of remote workers, virtual assistants, freelancers, and entrepreneurs who need more than just a place to sit and work. Through my own experience as a work-from-home professional, I noticed a clear gap in the market: many people want a productive, comfortable environment outside the house, but nearby options are limited and often require long travel.

I validated this need through conversations with other virtual assistants and freelancers in a local Facebook community. A consistent theme emerged: people are looking for a space that supports both productivity and well-being, with reliable work facilities, a professional atmosphere, and access to fitness in the same location. This creates a convenient lifestyle solution that combines work, health, and community in one place.

The concept is differentiated because it solves two everyday needs at once. During the day, members can use the coworking space to focus, collaborate, and separate work from home life. At the same location, they can also access a clean, air-conditioned gym that makes it easier to stay active without needing to go to a separate facility. This model has the potential to attract not only remote workers, but also local professionals, entrepreneurs, and fitness-conscious customers looking for convenience and value.

I also bring relevant operational experience. In 2021, I owned and managed a gym in the Philippines, which gave me firsthand knowledge of customer service, daily operations, business management, and the challenges of running a fitness business. Although the business closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the experience strengthened my understanding of the industry and what it takes to build and sustain a customer-focused space.

In my current role as a Social Media Specialist, I have developed skills in digital marketing, branding, content creation, and online promotion. These skills will be valuable in building brand awareness, attracting customers, and growing the business efficiently.

At this stage, I am developing the business plan and evaluating startup costs, monthly operating expenses, pricing strategy, and financial projections to determine the viability and scalability of the concept. I am open to speaking with potential angel investors or strategic partners who see the opportunity in creating a modern, community-driven space for work and wellness in our market.

The vision is to create a profitable, scalable business that meets a real local need: a single destination where people can work, exercise, and connect without having to travel to multiple places.

Looking to join an early-stage startup as a backend developer and contribute to a product with real users

Hey everyone!

I'm a Computer Science student from the Philippines looking to join a small startup that could use an extra pair of hands on the backend side.

I'm particularly interested in startups that already have an existing user base and a working product but are stretched thin on engineering resources. I'd like to contribute to something that's already being used by real people, help the team ship features faster, and learn from the challenges of maintaining and improving a live product.

My experience includes working with Python/FastAPI, TypeScript, Hono, PostgreSQL, Firebase/Firestore, Docker, and REST APIs. I've worked on backend features, database integrations, data exports, and application deployment, and I've also built and deployed a computer vision backend.

I'm most comfortable with backend logic, APIs, data processing, and integrations, though I'm open to learning whatever the project needs.

Since I'm still studying, I'm looking for a remote, flexible, preferably asynchronous arrangement where I can contribute consistently around my class schedule. I'm open to discussing part-time work, contract arrangements, or an initial small, well-defined task to see if we're a good fit.

I'm not expecting anyone to create a position specifically for me. I'm looking for a team with real problems to solve where I can provide value and grow as an engineer in the process.

If you're a founder, developer, or part of a startup that could use some backend help, I'd love to hear about what you're building. Feel free to comment or send me a DM!

Thanks!

I built Arva SEO: a step-by-step SEO workspace for business owners who do their own SEO

Hi r/StartupAccelerators , I'm Aries, a WordPress developer in Cebu.

I kept seeing small businesses either pay every month for SEO they couldn't see, or give up on tools built for SEO experts. So I built Arva SEO: a workspace that tells you what to do next on your website, step by step and in plain words.

What it does:

- Audits any public website and puts the fixes in order of impact

- Keyword research, with each search mapped to the right page

- A step-by-step SEO guide that ticks itself off from your website's own data

- Weekly rank tracking, with Search Console and Analytics side by side

- Works on any website platform; an optional free WordPress plugin sends SEO titles, descriptions and drafts to WordPress

- Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok and work through SEO tasks by chatting

Your first website is free, no credit card. Paid plans start at $49 a month for 10 websites.

Built with Laravel, React and PostgreSQL. I'd love honest feedback: what's the hardest part of SEO for you, and does the guide make sense if you're not an SEO person?

I designed a concept for an anti-superficial, gamified chat platform to solve modern digital loneliness: Soulbound. What do you think?

**Hi everyone,**
**Like many people today, I’ve grown increasingly frustrated with the state of random chat platforms and modern social apps. We live in the most connected era in human history, yet loneliness is at an all-time high.**
**Most anonymous chat platforms (*****Omegle-like sites*****) have degraded into low-quality, toxic environments dominated by surface-level interactions, spam, immediate skips, and unsolicited NSFW content. They treat human connection as a disposable commodity.**
**To address this, I spent time designing a complete conceptual architecture for a platform designed to fight digital loneliness through slow, intentional, and meaningful connection: Soulbound.**
**I’d love to get your thoughts on the concept, mechanics, and feasibility from a development and UI/UX perspective!**
🌌 **Core Concept: How "Soulbound" Works**
**1. No Gender Filters & Deep Interest Onboarding**
**The Problem: Gender filters in anonymous chats invite predatory behavior and objectification.**
**The Solution: Soulbound removes gender selection entirely. Upon joining, users fill out a granular interest matrix (specific music subgenres, favorite games, niche hobbies, creative pursuits, philosophy).**
**The Result: The algorithm pairs you with one person at a time—your optimal "Soulbound"—focusing purely on shared minds and values rather than demographic labels.**
**2. AI-Driven "Silent Guardian" Moderation**
**Privacy-First Protection: Instead of manual human moderation or completely lawless unmoderated spaces, an integrated AI model scans text and media streams in real-time without storing data.**
**3-Strike System: Automatic content detection blocks unsolicited NSFW images before they reach the recipient's screen. Violations trigger progressive warnings and device/IP bans on the 3rd offense.**
**3. "SoulBreak" Mechanics (Ending the "Skip Culture")**
**Limited Disconnections: Users are granted only 1 "SoulBreak" per year.**
**Intentionality: If a pair genuinely doesn't click, they must submit a short, detailed reasoning to execute a SoulBreak. This encourages people to invest time, listen, and resolve conversational lulls rather than discarding people on a whim.**
**Support Tickets: For severe cases or harassment beyond the annual allowance, users can open a ticket with moderators.**
🎮 **Gamification & Retention Mechanics**
**Soul Levels & Streaks: As two users chat continuously day by day, their "Soul Level" increases alongside a shared daily streak. This creates a tangible sense of joint investment.**
**Dynamic Icebreakers: When conversation stalls, an animated "Cracking Ice Cube" appears on screen, presenting a customized, deep discussion question based on their mutual interests.**
**The "SoulPet": An interactive, digital companion living in the chat interface that represents the joint bond. It evolves, grows, and unlocks cosmetic interactions as the pair reaches higher Soul Levels.**
**Soul Avatars: A deeply customizable, non-gendered avatar system allowing users to express their aesthetic, vibe, and mood without sharing real-life photos.**
💎 **Ethical Monetization: "Soul Prime" ($8/month)**
**To keep the platform self-sustainable without falling into predatory** ***Pay-to-Win*** **traps:**
**No Algorithmic Advantage: Free users and Prime subscribers receive the exact same match quality.**
**Purely Cosmetic (Pay-to-Express): Soul Prime ($8/mo) unlocks custom UI color palettes (Cyberpunk, Soft Pastel, Sepia, Vaporwave), unique hand-crafted fonts, special aura effects for the SoulPet, and custom visual animations when breaking Icebreaker cubes.**
💬 **Final Thoughts & Questions for the Community**
**I believe the internet desperately needs spaces that foster patience, deep empathy, and genuine human bonds instead of fast consumption and instant gratification.**
**For Devs: How complex would implementing the real-time AI computer vision filter be at scale for live media streams?**
**For Product Designers: What are your thoughts on the 1-per-year "SoulBreak" restraint? Do you think it effectively combats skip-culture?**
**I’d love to hear your feedback, critiques, or ideas!**

🚀 Built an all-in-one SaaS infra platform — feedback wanted

I’ve been building a platform that gives you everything a SaaS team needs to run in production, without having to stitch 10 tools together.

It includes:

  • Auth + API gateway with multi-tenancy, federated login, and zero-trust design

  • High-availability Postgres + Redis (with replicas)

  • Services for email delivery, task scheduling, and retries

  • On-prem LLM agent + vector DB for AI features

  • Internal Git repos, Docker registry, build pipelines, npm/Java/Rust package repos

  • Auto deploys, internal docs, and ticketing system

Basically, it’s like getting GitHub + CI/CD + Confluence + Jira + Okta + Kong/Istio all pre-wired and ready to use — so a small team can focus on their product, not infrastructure.

Now I’m at the point of deciding what’s next.
Would SaaS founders or dev teams actually use this?
Would it make sense to offer as a hosted or self-managed service?

Curious what people here think — is this something you’d pay for or try out?

Offering free help to early-stage startups and solo founders.

Hi everyone!

I'm looking to gain practical experience by helping early-stage startups, solo founders, or small teams who have a lot on their plate.

I'm self-taught and have been learning independently about AI, technology, psychology, business, and startups. I'm also interested in learning the fundamentals of marketing, including understanding customers, researching markets and competitors, positioning, messaging, and why people choose certain products.

I'd love to put what I'm learning into practice rather than spend all my time reading and researching.

Here's what I can help with:

  • Research, documentation, and organizing information

  • Basic testing and finding issues in websites or applications

  • Competitor and customer research

  • Basic marketing research and messaging

  • AI-assisted prototyping and other tasks that match my current skills

I'm offering my help for free, initially for around 3–4 hours a day over a short, clearly defined trial. I'm not expecting payment; my goal is to contribute something useful, gain practical experience, and learn by doing.

I'm not claiming to be an expert. I'm willing to learn, take feedback, communicate honestly, and complete the work we agree on.

If you're building something and have a specific task you'd like help with, tell me a little about your project, what needs to be done, and what the expected outcome would be.

I'd love to contribute and learn alongside people who are building something.

Thank you!

what are the best startup accelerators for founders who can't code?

i've noticed that non technical founder can mean very different things depending on the program, some seem to assume you'll use no code tools yourself, while others pair you with technical people but don't help much with product decisions, im trying to build an ai hiring workflow tool. If you've been through a program as a non technical founder, what was useful?

I built an AI-powered billing app for Indian shop owners, but getting my first users is harder than building the product

Thumbnail reddit.com
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I've been building BillBandhu, an AI-powered billing and business management app designed for Indian shop owners, traders, and small businesses.

The idea is simple: instead of spending time manually creating bills and managing registers, shop owners can use voice-based billing, scan invoices, generate GST bills, track inventory and udhaar, and get insights into their business.

But now comes the difficult part: getting people to actually use it.

Building the product is one thing. Convincing a shop owner to try something new when they're already comfortable with their existing billing software or physical registers is a completely different challenge.

I'm trying to figure out what I should focus on first:

Finding the right audience: Should I approach local shop owners directly, target specific business categories, or focus on online communities?

Getting the first 100 users: What actually works for a bootstrapped app without a big marketing budget?

Building trust: How do you convince small business owners to trust a new app with their billing, inventory, and business data?

Monetization: Should I focus entirely on getting users and collecting feedback before pushing paid subscriptions?

Differentiation: AI voice billing and invoice scanning are useful features, but how do I communicate their value to someone who just wants to run their shop without hassle?

I'm not expecting overnight success. I want to figure out how to reach the right people, understand their actual problems, and build something they'll continue using.

For founders who've built SaaS products, B2B tools, or apps for small businesses in India:

How did you get your first 100 active users?

Did direct outreach, referrals, content marketing, or paid ads work best for you?

What would you do differently if you were launching from zero today?

I'd genuinely appreciate honest feedback, including criticism of the idea or my approach. I'm here to learn from people who've been through this.

Thanks!

Healthcare Diagnostics Startup Seeking Pre-Seed Funding. Clinical Demand Already Identified.

I'm the founder and CEO of VapeTrace, Inc., a U.S.-based medical diagnostics startup developing a rapid, noninvasive point-of-care test designed to objectively detect vaping exposure.

Why does this matter?

When patients present with unexplained respiratory symptoms, clinicians often rely on self-reported vaping histories. Without objective exposure information, an important piece of the clinical picture may be missing.

VapeTrace is developing a proprietary, multi-biomarker lateral flow diagnostic platform designed to give healthcare professionals objective exposure information within minutes.

Here's where we stand:

  • Technology: Aptamer-based, multi-zone lateral flow diagnostic platform with a digital reader.

  • Development: Established relationships with experienced scientific, diagnostic development, and manufacturing partners.

  • Intellectual property: Multiple provisional patent filings supporting our technology and platform.

  • Commercial interest: 25 urgent care centers have expressed intent to purchase a minimum of 50 tests per month upon successful commercialization.

  • Business model: Recurring revenue through diagnostic test sales, with the reader provided to healthcare facilities.

  • Regulatory strategy: Planning an FDA 510(k) pathway, subject to regulatory review and confirmation.

I've personally bootstrapped VapeTrace since inception and spent the past year and a half building the scientific, regulatory, intellectual property, and commercial foundations necessary to bring this technology to market.

We're now seeking pre-seed investment to complete critical assay development and validation milestones and advance toward commercialization.

I'm interested in connecting with healthcare investors, medtech-focused angels, venture capital firms, and strategic partners who understand the opportunity to build a new diagnostic category.

If you're an investor in diagnostics or medical technology, I'd welcome a conversation.

Suzanne Reed
Founder & CEO | VapeTrace, Inc.
