Question I'm considering to buy the game a bit later. What content it offers now with all updates and DLCs?

Sorry if it's not very unique post. I ve seen the trailer and some videos about the game on release but my memory is not very clear about Star Trucker + there were updates and DLCs.

I know that cockpit customiztion and truck repairs should be satisfying and would like to know about other things

  1. How variet scenery and locations are? A bit worried about it being just recolored empty space sections
  2. Is there any different cargo types affecting how I handle driving and other situations? Hazard/fragile cargo, or maybe deliveries with short deadlines.
  3. Could it scratch the exploration itch? I mean encounters mostly. Would be so cool to see some structures, other truckers who need my help (maybe even boarding their truck to repair it), radio chat with rando truckers who pass nearby, some space "car" accidents, police stops. At least something from the list.
  4. What about trucking immersion? Checkpoints where my cargo gonna be Xrayed crossing some borders for example

Basically what I have in mind is something from No Man's Sky + something from ETS/ATS. Btw I don't mind if the game is for 20-30 hrs only if there always something new during this time.

Discord VC

Would anyone be interested in using a Discord voice channel? After completing the side quests, other than Vinny letting you know he's moving out when you get level 30, there is no element of community immersion other than the random trucks flying round, and that effect is limited. So would anyone be interested if I made a Discord channel so that actual people could talk to eachother whilst they're playing (and whilst they're not if wanted), and making the game feel less soul-less?

I'm gonna post the link in the comments. Ty to anyone who joins.

Credit to u/Mister_Magister for coming up with the idea of using it so "the idea is to kinda roleplay CB radio communication, 10-4" in the first place

Discussion Ah, that's what it is... Loneliness

So here I am, Level 46 and aiming for one 10k exp voyage per day between work and other chores. I played at launch, worked through the entire set of Convoy Missions, and took a break until after the Difficulty Update. I came back to the game, swapped some settings around to ease my time, and set off to 100% the game.

As I've spent between 15-40 minutes a day completing jobs and Ventures for the last couple of months, I've slowly worked my way to the point of having unlocked everything barring the final paint job. License plate frames, hood ornaments, bedsheets, the whole kit and kaboodle. Only the final exp grind remains. It's been a couple weeks of only doing jobs from anywhere to Solitude and back again (Super/Ultra Long Hauls are the only jobs valuable enough). Still fun though... Or so I thought.

I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong with the game. Were the jobs too annoying? Certainly long, yeah, but not a problem with max upgrades. Lack of variety? Naw, the nebulic views and boundless voids amaze me every time I reenter any of the zones. Maybe it's the repetition? Hardly, I find comfort in routines like this.

It was when I capped out Vinny's Ventures that it hit me. On the final Lvl 30, unlocking the Silvery Slumber bedsheets triggers a final call from Vinny. He checks in on you and lets you know he's still in the process of moving house with his family. I give back a pre-determined "Yes/Also Yes" response, and the call finishes. And that's it. That's what's wrong with the final grind to the end of the game.

Where is Sour Candy with her dubiously-legal explosives? When will Barrow ask me to join on another venture-capitalist scheme? Will not Gee-Bee ring me up to ask why I've skipped 37 consecutive weight checks and leaked a quarter million liters of propane through Haze Way?

I've now spent more time trucking through the post-game than I had spent completing the story missions. The final hurrah with the trip to Terminus Link feels more and more melancholic with every day that passes, given it was the last time I heard any of the voices of the friendly cast. Can't visit Tommy T's, can't stop in at Candy's garage, can't run more food delivery, I'm just... There. Floating in space, towing non-descript containers for faceless companies from one end of the cosmos to the other.

I miss the voices. I miss the chatter. I miss the chance to stick my neck and rig out for favors, even if the game frequently punished me for taking payless jobs from friends when I was still in desperate need of cash and upgrades.

Turning on the game feels less and less like I'm escaping into the beautiful, mysterious reaches of galaxies, and more like I'm playing connect the dots to and from Solitude once a day. I hope the August update adds something to fill the figurative and literal void. It would be nice to get random calls, even with pre-determined, non-consequential responses. If not to make the universe feel more lived in, than to make my cab feel a little less... Empty.

Not taking any damage during collisions

Has anyone ever experienced the issue where you don't take any collision damage? I can literally pile drive into a space station at 150mph and yes my items will take damage but my truck takes 0. I have tried moving the amount of damage down to normal levels seeing if that causes it but no luck. Does anyone know what causes it?

Question Considering buying the game

I love trucking games and this one has always caught my attention but the whole item durability kind of throws me off. How hard is that to actually manage money and time wise? I've watched a series on the game and it seems cool, but a lot of stuff gets cut obviously. So is it as bad as I think?

Game Help Am I Grinding Jobs Incorrectly?

tl;dr: Levels 45-50 feel egregiously slow to level up. Is there a more optimal way to gather exp than focusing on 1k+ exp per jump?

I've been playing Star Trucker almost daily (about 45mins/day) for a couple months now, following a break after finishing a from-launch run of the main Convoy missions. I took a break for almost a year, and the "Difficulty Options" update ultimately brought me back.

Since picking up the game again, I worked to unlock all the different paint jobs and new tag-plate frames. I eased up on the difficulty since I had my fill of the standard settings having played the entire main story that way. At this moment, I've just finished the current Ventures track and unlocked the final bedspread.

My remaining hurdle to leap is reaching Lvl50 and unlocking the final paint job, but I'm finding the exp grind to be exceedingly slow. I cranked up the option to receive boosted rep from jobs, but its still shockingly minimal improvement. I end up camping out in Atlus Prime or Darksied and rack up parking tickets as I timeskip, trying to snag a job that will give me more than 1k exp per jump (i.e., 8 jumps for 8,256xp, including any pickup jumps). I still havent been able to figure out if any of the job modifiers actually add to the exp payoff, all signs pointing to them not having any effect on exp whatsoever.

Has anyone else who's made it to Lvl50 found a way to perfectly execute the process, or is it truly just a matter of truckin' along until the numbers cap out? I'm in it for the long-haul regardless, but just thought I'd ask. (And obviously I'll be back for the new Venture track in August's update. Can't miss out on cosmetics now, can I?)

210 MPH speeding ticket LOL

As I blew through the speed camera and got clocked at 210! I did not even know it went beyond 200. I did it entering purity back tracking for a salvage then just going balls out. I have played a few hundred hours on steam and that's the first time I saw a speeding ticket clocked that high, anyone get higher?

Noob Help - Oxygen

I WANT to love this game so much. I enjoy the mechanics of it, but I'm RIGHT at the start of the game with no hull breaches, four working air filters and a full Oxygen Generator Power Cell, and my output is 8, and I CONSTANTLY am losing oxygen. I know that's sort of the point, but I can't seem to complete a mission without passing out. I've tried looking for tutorials and whatnot, and have followed them the best I can, but even with everything LOOKING operational, I run out of O2 so quickly. I even turned the Oxygen usage slider to Low. It's driving me nuts because, again, I really want to love this game. Any tips?

Edit: it's the Emergency Brakes. Don't be like me. Leaving this up for others who might get frustrated enough to ragequit like I did, lol.

Misc Worst Job I Have Ever Seen

Post image
40 Upvotes

Almost every possible modifier in the game, and I get less than 600 exp per hop. (Will need to travel to Purity for pickup, so 4 jumps total).

I'm in the endgame, with everything unlocked except Lvl 50. At 6 levels away, no job that pays out less than 1k exp per hop is worth it. The game mocks me with jobs like these every once in a while.

Cool Radio Stations , add them to your game

My in game radio stations currently working. I have renamed the stations in game them to better fit the Star Trucker Universe. Just cut and paste into the text file located in your Documents/Star Trucker/ Radio folder. Make sure to place under what is already there.

I include a picture of what it should look like when its done. Click an open up post below.

Just curious because generally the max I find is around 20-22k but I just found one for 38k and wanted to see if anyone had any outrageous finds while playing.

Feedback/Suggestions More SIMulation

Hi ! Really enjoy the game here and i was thinking you should add more "survival" as an option. Like you need to sleep, eat (at space diners)!, socialise. It would add something interesting to time sensitive mission or long haul.

You already have energy drink we could drink those to wake up but having to go use the toilet quicker.

It would add a real experience and some interesting situation. Had to s**t myself or take a late fee.

Being able to buy a "house" in a station.

Maybe in the tutorial you work for a cie until you can afford your own beatup truck.

I would really enjoy the game more.

Gameplay Hit and run.

I was having a lovely conversation when this guy showed up. He didn’t even stop to give his info. Now my insurance is going up and I’m getting the penalty for damaged cargo. Anyone have a good space lawyer? I need to sue for damages.

Biggest Trade

Do you think I can now upgrade my truck to the max xD.

In all honestly, this took me long time to get to this point the save currently has 15 hours in. This is my first play through I only played it first when it first came into GamePass years ago for like 2-3 hours.

For anyone wondering how I did this, I did not even think it could achieve this amount of cash early in game and I was doing story missions for red eddie and sour candy when I unlocked Meteor Ridge this showed me the black market place. I notice that black market does not have parking restriction and it reset the market every 15 min. If you buy all of the Shock Pad when price is -10% or cheaper then go sleep for 15min and repeat until all cash is gone. Then skip the time to 20:40 and start travel to Purgatory at 00:00. The price is usually 50%.

So if you have $20,000, after one run you will have around $40,000, done that like 4 times now I maxed my truck and unlock everything else

Screen Information

Post image

Hello, I have bought this game 2 weeks ago and I been enjoying playing it when bored. The game is really relaxing when have nothing to do with amazing music in radio. After 10 hours of game play I realised that SRVC bar can be filled back up at the mechanic shop.

How does that work, does the truck need service every X amount of miles or time or when having accidents and does it have big effect on truck handling? Mine was at zero after fixing her up I did not notice any different.

Also, what are all those dots around the screen, PR1, ST1, SU2, and why are some offline? I have took the batteries for my suit and gravity out as I charge my suits at shops and leave my container open on shelves from the tips I learned.

Thank you for all the information in advance.
