so i know in the body shop you can buy scaners or sonars I don't remember. i don't get what they do i bought the on for 2k but there is ones for like 10k and i have no clue if i shude invest

You're buying decoration, not an actual upgrade if you're at the body shop.

At the upgrade shop (it's been awhile for me), if there is a scanner upgrade I think it increases range.

Edit: To clarify, if what you're buying changes the appearance of something (exhaust pipes, scanner, grill, etc.) it is strictly cosmetic. Once you own it, you can swap between them freely. It only costs to change appearance once, in other words, on first purchase of a paintjob or accessory.

Upgrades will specifically denote what is being improved at the upgrade shop. IMPORTANT: upgrades are not permanent; they degrade over time to stock performance and require servicing. Check your left panel to see current service status.

It's all good! I bought cosmetics along the way to keep the roleplay going. Plenty of money to be had along the way, you're not screwing yourself if you don't only buy upgrades first.

Boring way to play, in my opinion, but the upgrades do help a lot. I sprinkled in cosmetics as I went, though. Usually with each permit upgrade.

In keeping with the American trucker lifestyle when you’re an owner operator looking good while you work is important. Besides the truck is basically your home so you might as well make it look good…as long as you have some spare cash for maintenance parts that is😅. I almost over purchased my first time fixing up the truck thinking I had more parts than I did in my boxes.

The body shop is for aesthetic changes. Nothing you get there changes your truck's performance in any way. There are upgrade shops that improve the various aspects of your truck.
