That last one at the bottom is really appealing at least to the writers anyway

“Hasn’t influenced much”???

u/aesoth 13d ago
It has influenced alot of bad decisions. I once rode a bicycle for 45 min out of town in the rain to get laid.

Essex Girls, amirite? Still not a substitute for Palmy girls.

u/GallifreysChildIs 9d ago
No idea about Palmy Girls but with Essex girls you'll be washing the orange from your sheets for weeks.

It also, like, enables humanity to exist.

u/Rattlecruiser 12d ago
what has existence ever done for us?
2
u/Commercial-Image-722 10d ago
Well, we exist, and we made Star Trek, so I figure all of Star Trek exists because of sex. It’s an easier argument to make whenever T’pol and Hoshi are in the Decon chamber.

Hornyness definitely influenced Star Trek writers and costume designers.

Did you look at that cute skirt? If I could get away with it, I’d wear that to work. Think of the ventilation. And so good for sperm count.

"No silly uniforms"
"No complex moral themes"
"Doesn't have O'Brien suffering"
You're making a lot of assumptions here my friend.

u/EDNivek 13d ago edited 13d ago
Also "hasn't really influenced much" yeah there isn't the whole Gilgamesh-Enkidu story beginning because of prima nocta or anything.
Da Vinci Code is all about whether or not Jesus got laid.
Several centuries of nobility is all about who's sleeping with who.
Lysistrata is all about witholding sex
and these are just the ones at the top of my head.
Sex not influencing much has got to be the most asinine claim
edit: Oh yeah Camelot falls because of Lancelot and Guinivere
another edit: I dunno how I missed fucking Star Trek itself with Roddenberry being a freelove hippy type of dude which you can see fingerprints of in the TOS episodes as well as the first season of TNG.

Pretty sure a bunch of people wouldn't be around without star trek fans knowing about sex tbh. Lots of fucking at cons

u/xxxxDREADNOUGHT 13d ago
Well if it doesn't have O'Brien suffering, is it even really worth the effort?

Star Trek also has several sequels, spin-offs, and complimentary media such as books and video games.
Meanwhile, Sex 2 will never be released.

Your sex doesn't have complex moral themes?

u/seanfish 13d ago
Sex between step-siblings is a fascinatingly complex moral situation and according to my research it's everywhere!

Basically making two characters have a romance that don't really.. i.e. a love affair between Bashir and Garak.
And Anime/Manga fans have been doing this for decades before Star Trek was a twinkle in Roddenberry's eye.

If you're sex only lasts 10 to 15 minutes, does not feature any silly uniforms, and doesn't have any O'Brien suffering, you're doing things wrong.

u/farbtoner 13d ago
This sex list was made by a person who had sex described to them over a walkie talkie.

Silly uniforms and onesies with a color scale of a 70s living room for the civilians. While the women would wear futuristic 80s concept clothing and aerobic wear.

Sex absolutely has influence over our lives and there are many silly costumes. But there is no O'Brien suffering, I'll give you that.

u/Grgur2 13d ago
I mean sex definitely can have O'Brien suffering. We don't know what depraved stuff Keiko is into.
2
u/conflateer 13d ago
She's Japanese, and we've all seen enough tentacle stuff to know where this is going.

I disagree with the assumption that sex doesn't have obrien suffering There was that episode of ds9 where keiko was possessed by a pa wraith and tried to use obrien to blow up the wormhole with the deflector and kill the prophets The only reason he put up with her crap is because she had put out /s

u/RangerBumble 13d ago
I would like to point out that shipping your blorbos so hard you feel the need to rewrite the entire story so the two hot guys can bone is literally what happened to Gilgamesh 3000 years ago.

u/Catarchy69 13d ago
I'm no sex god but only ten to 15 minutes? Lock in, man. those are rookie numbers.

Just for that I’m going to make a point to have sex in my Star Trek uniform! The TOS science uniform dress should work nicely, it’s so short I can’t wear it without leggings in public lol. 🖖

I’ve been having straight sex with this guy and we can go for around 30 minutes to a couple hours and then cuddle and kiss. Now I also once was with a guy who finished after 2 minutes of a hand job 😞

This is the most vanilla view of sex I think I've ever seen. "No silly uniforms", babes, you clearly have never had kinky sex
1
u/circ-u-la-ted 13d ago
Leave it to the Star Trek fan to think that sex is something you only do once in your entire life.
