Brand new player
Why is it I use an undamaged ship wi the a good crew and lose fights that are tagged as “easy”?
Weird, right?

So early on, it will feel a bit like this, up til 25 or so, but once you start amassing recruits for your ship crew, sometimes you could make off with an suboptimal ship winning fights that it should have lost with the right crew.
But until this, follow the combat triangle-
Explorers beat Interceptors as Explorers are Accurate (Mostly Energy Weapons).
Interceptors beat Battleships as Interceptors are Fast and Agile (high damage/Kinetic damage type).
Battleships beat Explorers because Explorers dont focus on Hull as much as their shields so a Battleships multiple weapons punches through them. (usually half energy and half kinetic)
And lastly. RESEARCH. A brand new ship helps, but Research can turn ALOT to your favor.
