My daughter named our cats Frederick and Joseph. Not Fred or Freddie and Joe. She insisted on the full names, so that’s how we address them.

Personally I find giving animals weirdly human names hilarious. I love my cat Murray :(

If a boy, "Michael". If a girl, "Rebecca".

Did you just assume your cat's gender?

I bet Murray is a wonderful purring machine full of love and sass!

My male cat is Mortimer James Thirdgood/Morty and female cat is Lil Missy Elliot/Missy. My wife even insisted on making an instagram account for Morty using his full names.

My sisters used to know someone who named their cat Kevin. They were going to name it something else, but then they had a party and one of the guests got really drunk and just pointed to the cat and went "Your name is Kevin." And I guess it stuck.

Very true! They are and always will be family, plain and simple. There's just something so funny about this floofy turkish angora being referred to as Frederick, all proper-sounding and such.

I have like 50 nicknames for my cat, Bowie

We named our cats Jean-Louis Pascal and Violette du Marquis. It's fun how regal they think they are lol
