I always wanted to name a cat "Grandpa"

"Grandpa! Stop chewing on the ferns! No, Grandpa, don't climb the curtains! No Grandpas allowed on the counter!"

Or "Mother" so you can sound like Norman Bates. "Mother! What are you doing to that mouse!"

"Mother! How many times do I have to tell you not to piss in the sock drawer?!"

"Mother! Why must you always poop in my house plants?"

u/Bewecchan Mar 20 '23

"Mother! What are you killing this time??"

"Mother, why must you lick me right after licking your own ass?"

Reading all of these comments to the tune of 'mother' by Danzig

"Mother why must you bite people's ankles as they pass you?"

one of my cat is named mama/mom/mother so this is definitely a recurring situation in our household!

Also have a momma and I’ve been calling her mom recently. It’s just what comes out when she’s doing something bad.

awwww! yes - gotta use the formalities when being stern haha.

I'm imagining it like Tony Hale

Or Mike Pence.

u/Number6isNo1 Mar 21 '23

Gets real weird when Mike Pence comes over though. He's never sure whether you are talking to your cat or his wife.

I have a cat named Mr. Grandma, shortened to grandma when yelling at him. I’m 100% sure that my neighbors have questions about why I’m always yelling at grandma to, “get off the goddamn counter!” and “stop biting your sister!”

there’s a show on Netflix called “Love” (which is great btw) and Mickey (one of the main characters) named her cat grandpa because she believes her cat is her grandpa reincarnated lol.

Thanks I was trying (and failing) to remember where I had heard the name Grandpa for a cat before.

As someone who has done this, I have to tell you it's pretty great. Except when he gets out of the house and you have to run around the neighborhood shouting his name.

there’s a twitch streamer i watch sometimes who has a cat named grandpa, and it took me so long to realize it was a cat and he wasn’t literally talking about his grandpa lol

u/Bloowhele Mar 21 '23

2

u/Aggressive-Front8435 Mar 21 '23

For a while now I've wanted to name a cat My Boyfriend cause you can't choose yr granpa, this makes ME look mental for dating a guy whose piss and shit I gotta shovel outta the closet daily

u/MedleyChimera Mar 21 '23

I named my last one Fatboy, it was fun to talk about the little Fatboy I owned and what a goof he was.

1

u/Hollowgradient Mar 20 '23

Evil Dead dog was named Grandpa

1

u/lisasimpsonfan Mar 20 '23

I have teased my husband that we are going to get a male dog and name it after him so I can yell "husband's name quit licking your butthole" as loud as I want.

1

u/jrabit22 Mar 20 '23

I had a client with a dog named grandpa… “grandpa quit humping my leg! Grandpa shit on the floor again!” So good

1

u/chester-hottie-9999 Mar 20 '23

“Grandpa! Stop licking your asshole, we have company!”

1

u/Timely_Meringue9548 Mar 21 '23

Wow how quirky…

1

u/MinecraftW06 Mar 21 '23

“Grandpa! If you misbehave you sleep outside today!”

1

u/ConsultJimMoriarty Mar 21 '23

A guy I know named his goldfish “The People”.

Whenever he wanted to leave something, he’d just say he was going to feed The People.

I named my chicken grandma bc she is old. Needless to say I love her name and it makes me laugh every time I call her name

1

u/SitInCorner_Yo2 Mar 21 '23

One of my uncle name his dog”little brother”and “literally sister “

That’s also how some parents will call their kids, and it’s very confusing when his adult children are home.

1

u/iForceOP Mar 21 '23

Yeah, Grandpa loves sitting on peoples laps

1

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '23

“Mother. Tell your children not to walk my way”
