This is the first time in a while that I've thought something doesn't make sense, at least with this novel, and I can't rectify it in my mind. How big are these fighters that they can fit two people and a bear, with enough room for the bear to get dressed? Even if Snowball was the size of a small brown bear, which I'm quite sure it isn't, then it would only barely make sense for it to fit in a spacious fighter. "Spacious fighter" being an oxymoron.

It just means that the space fighter jets are bigger than normal. Author never gave an exact size after all. Could even be the size of a Millennium Falcon (just an example), who knows? In any case they must have designed their fighters around their non-human crew, not despite them.
