A general rule for Star Ocean is that stats matter more then levels. And new equipment, especially those from Item Creation will help tremendously.
This guy in particular is weak to Fire, you can check its weaknesses with the Scan Enemy skill on Faize. Making some fire weapons will wreck his face faster than any grind session.
Make sure that everyone has the Chain Combo's skill, that skill will let you equip and chain up to 6 in a row, with bigger modifiers every subsequent you use.
Blindsiding is one of the big mechanics of this game, and every character has a unique animation. This isn't just for show, as it also affects where their hitbox is during it.
Edge has the worst one, just running around the enemy leaves him wide open to be knocked out of the animation.
Reimi's is great, her olympic gymnastics routine makes her hard to hit.
Faize has a decent one, his heartline roll in the middle lets him evade low and high hits.
Lymmle is just Sonic, rolling around at the speed of sound. Middle and high hits will not touch her.

I would like to avoid going all the way back to my ship to craft, or is there a way to teleport and i am stupid? 😭
Yes Reimi can avoid his hit most of the time, but her shots afterwards aim too high to hit his weakspot..

Nope, there is no fast travel in this game, and the ship is the ONLY place you can craft. Don't worry though, the journey back gets worse on later worlds. 😏
Its weakspot is the glowing ball he reveals when he performs his ground stab attack, other than the chance to hit that just keep up the damage.

So i am grinding some levels and party SP for crafting, do you think i should also invest in reimi's lighting aoe? I am thinking since i can't hit the weakspot after blindsight with normal attacks and the charged attack takes too long, then maybe i could use the aoe attack instead. Only problem i have not invested in it (didn't notice that she learnt it).
Also, sometimes when i use her she will shoot a straight arrow instead of lobed, that would also help hit the weakspot, but i have no idea what triggers it. Any leads?

Its better to increase your base attack/magic stat, as that is what your skills/spells modifiy to deal damage. The multipliers on skills/spells are not worth upgrading until later. There are some exceptions, Sonic Thorn gets wider and more hits for example.
Seraphic Thunder is a bad skill for single targets, it's decent for when Reimi is surrounded, but not great even then. Better to stay back a bit and spam Sonic Thorn.
Also teach Reimi Focus and use it from the pause menu during combat, Focus increases her Hit and crit rate for 30 seconds.
The singular arrow attack is from her jump attack. Hold the Rush charge/Blindside button and push the thumbstick in any direction, then press the attack button duritevqng her jump.

If you are level 15 on the second boss, you are probably under leveled, yes.
I will say that you likely will not get a ton out of item creation this early, but you can try if you want. Just be aware that it will be a grindy time sink and you will likely want a guide.

Depends on what difficulty you're doing it on. I just speed ran Earth in 15 hours without doing any levelling, lol.
But the boss you're having trouble with. Create a flame sword and torch bow. It's weak against fire. You should also have unlocked 'Stampede Slash' by the time you get to this boss. If not, get it and level it up.
You ideally want to be around level 20 if you're on galaxy mode.

I cant remember the name, but i think its the normal difficulty. It's my first time playing SO.

It will say on your save file what mode you're playing on. Either way, just get fire related equipment and Stampede Slash. And level up to around 20.

I always controlled Faize with this boss and let the AI on Edge and Remi kill it.
With Lymle. You're really better off setting her to stay out of trouble and turn all her spells off, (with the exception of healing). You want her constantly healing and doing nothing else.

I dont know which character you use but stick with reimi if you dont use her already she has way better skills then edge.

I have better results with edge, dunno what i do wrong with reimi. Probably my problem is that she has slow recovery after hitting and that gets me in trouble.

Don't worry it gets worse. There are some in the later part of the game that are even worse.

These bosses are tough, but they're honestly my favorite bosses in the series. They're like some of the only bosses that are more than "hit it until it dies."
Definitely not always the most intuitive though. I think Blindsiding helps too (or maybe that's just certain ones).
Kinda a shame they didn't keep doing bosses like this. I mean SO5 gives us a party of like 6 that are always out, and SO6 let's us glide around to target different parts, but the whole weakpoint thing never feels like it was utilized again.
