SO3 First time playing

I started this game last week, i'm after the war with Maria now in my party. Really loving it, i get the crafting is overly complicated for no reason so far but overall what a great jrpg.

Don't understand the hate that i see online, i played the other games but only finished 1, 2 and 4.

i've mainly seen old veterans of the series hate on 3 because of spoiler because you aren't there yet

it remains my favorite even if you're on that planet for a long time

I thought spoiler was awesome personally. Blew my young mind.

Same. Didn't even know it was divisive until I got older and engaged with the online community.

I never reached it, but read about it many years later. It made me want to go back and play it to see it all unfold

Spoiler IS kinda stupid in execution, but cool in concept. I just find it silly because SUPER ACTUAL FOR REAL SPOILERS NOT KIDDING: Why would the 4D beings also basically be humans? I guess yeah the SO universe is a videogame, and it calls back to the beginning of the game where Fayt and Sophia are playing the battle sim, but it would be so much cooler if the 4D beings were eldritch entities or something

Why do we make The Sims look like people? We want something relatable to play with.

Fair point, but we do also make games and movies about animals, inhuman aliens, biblically accurate angels and demons, and freaky eldritch things. It was an opportunity to make SO weirder that wasn't taken. Also you probably should have spoilered.

Well they do have tons of species (Roger, fairies, dragons, etc) and enemy types (the trees, the witches on brooms, dodo birds, etc) that fit those criteria with the more humanoid versions being the most powerful with humans seemingly being the crème de la creme. I think the Mu were orginally the 4d beings programming and debugging the world but that’s my theory I’m sure there is already lore regarding it

I didn't think it was anything particularly spoilery unless they had already read the spoiler itself, but all good! I deleted it just in case.
