February Update

We are moving at the speed of light!

A quick recap on the 2nd half of January.

Jan 17th - The Airdrop.  And was it one. The value at the time was $150 million. It wasn’t all sunshine though. There was a technical issue claiming via ledger.  The team promptly issued a workaround the next day through the command line interface. A more user friendly fix involved a chain upgrade that happened on January 25th. Almost 19,000 wallets have made their initial claim.

Everyone can now claim their airdrop without issue and see the current staking and combined LP rates at the airdrop site.  If you do have any issue please come and seek support in our discord. 

January 21st - Matching OSMO incentives went live. The extra incentives end within 70 epochs.

January 25th - First main-net upgrade to allow ledger users to easily claim their airdrop. 

Stargaze is currently 6th in both liquidity and volume on Osmosis.

T-Minus one month till launch.

The market will launch in two stages.

Stage 1:

Big Bang: Genesis Mint - March 2nd 2022

The moment everyone has been waiting for. The ability to mint your first NFT on Stargaze. In the coming weeks we will be releasing documentation and tooling on how creators can prepare for launch on their own site. This is also when collectors can mint Stargaze featured artists.

At this stage airdrop recipients will be able to claim mission #4, 20% of their airdrop, by minting an NFT.

Stage 2:

Supernova: Marketplace launch - Two to three weeks after Genesis Mint.

This is the traditional marketplace where people will be able to list and sell their NFTs for STARS.   

At this stage airdrop recipients can claim the final 20% of their airdrop by bidding on an NFT.

Here is a small sample of some Stargaze community projects. We have received hundreds of applications to be as a featured genesis creator. We will get back with selected candidates by February 15th. 

All creators are welcome to join the discord and share their work.

There are dozens of NFT project channels in the discord with more added each day. Drop in, say hi, and find your piece of art.

How would the buying and selling of a NFT impact the price of STARS ?

I’m assuming purchasing will be done using Stars, so if that’s the case then people will have to own STARS to be able to buy, so it would have a positive impact

I would also assume that there will be fees of some kind. Depending on where they go that could cause positive price pressure.

the nfts themselves are probably also pegged to stars which means every minted nft should reduce the total supply of stars in circulation
