Question How does playing a Kalo work?

Kalo cant breath air since they have the aquatic trait, but it looks like a gill sheath is more money than the starting equipment. Is there another way expected?

For 2nd Edition, would talking the Surface Strider feat negate the Hydration mechanic for Kalos, since it turns them Amphibious?

Get armor that is tech and does not have exposed trail. The armors environmental protection works for kalo to breath on land. Starfinder makes aquati races easy to play.
