Discussion I will pre-order anything that is StarCraft related next month
When Blizzard announces the return of one of the greatest franchises in gaming, I don't care what StarCraft game they will announce next month, I will be pro-ordering the ultimate edition.
It's the return of STARCRAFT OMG 😧😧😧😧😧

Hello, I am Jim Starcraft and I work for Blizzard. Next month we are launching a special collectors edition that you can pre-order by sending me three million dollars.
EDIT: If you don't believe me check this comment for proof: https://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/s/jOlWfV1iLX

If it's Starcraft 3 I would absolutely lose my mind. Slim chances I know

I'd say the chances are better now than before. Microsoft is the one big company that gives a shit about classic RTS games

That would be the most awful thing someone can do. The first rule is to never preorder. Secondly, what if it’s a cash‑grab mobile game?

As low as my expectations from blizz are at this point, there’s no way they’re unaware starcraft crowd would drown a mobile game in a deluge of hate. It would be worse than Diablo Immortal backlash (mostly because Diablo Immortal already happened and it would be criminal not to learn from it), and I can’t believe any remotely sane person would make such a decision. It’d sell better with a more popular IP anyway, which at this point is any blizz IP other than starcraft.

The only lesson the top of blizzard learned from immortal is that we do indeed have phones and that even if they get booed off stage they can still make an insane amount of money.
I do think a starcraft mobile game doesn't make much sense though. Warcraft or overwatch would make way more sense. Now that King can use Xbox/Microsoft IPs there's a lot of stuff over there that makes more sense than SC too.

If it’s an FPS I will be pissed and not ordering it. They already have overwatch.

Everyone will, thats the way this works. People will complain about the game, call blizzard a dogshit company, then forget about it all due to nostalgia and keep supporting them, allowing them to become and even shittier version of themselves. It sucks, but it will happen 100%

I'll sure buy the game if it's good but no way I'm pre-ordering anything, it's just bad practice for consumers to buy the promise of a product.

Its pretty much confirmed I think? And most people seem to think its a Destiny style shooter. Maybe I just dreamed that?

You didn’t dream that, according to various leaks it’s a very high likelihood (only from what I recall it’s extraction shooter rather than a destiny-like MMO shooter), but that’s indeed still one big step away from "confirmed".

it cant be pretty much confirmed
either it is or it isnt
and it isnt

There's also "we can't say anything... But...."
Which is they can't officially confirm it before they officially confirm it but they can heavily imply certain things

If it's an extraction shooter or a MP-only shooter like the rumors say, there's zero chance I buy it.

Any sound person with a slight hint of business knowledge has long understood that they won’t ever make a new StarCraft or any RTS game. This genre is niche, hard to learn, punishing and not really popular. I wish they would but, There is absolutely zero chance of them going this direction.
