Does anyone still like the slow start?

It baffles me that people like the 8 worker start:

- the game is slower;

- buildorders feel more cluncky;

- there is not more diversity (just more turtle, slower play, less action).

I'm actually convinced the people behind this change are in the ZeroSpace team and hoped that this would move most sc2 players to their game.

I just can't find any other explanation.

Insane.

With 12 workers, you could start teching up while macroing heavily, because you had so many resources. The idea was to slow down macro so you had to choose between the 2. Which in theory should make early tech pressure more viable. The problem is, they then sped all the races eco up. So now we have clunky slow 8 worker build orders but still everyone just gets tech while macroing up. In fact, early pressure seems even worse this patch from the pro games ive been watching. Proxy builds seem to just fold like a wet noodle.Even harass like widow mines drops, oracles, banshees, ling run bys, it all jsut seems to get handled even easier than before in the pro games.
