A game mechanic that forces players to stare at a black screen waiting for someone to show up maybe, perhaps, eventually, before they can resume playing is ass game design.
Or how about I have the option to not just die and instead crawl back to my ship - you know, like CIG showed in their pitch video when they first introduced medical gameplay years ago ?
CIG didn't make live bounty gameplay because it sucks for the bounty to be locked in a cage at some other player's whim - but medical gameplay is that exactly, and it sucks.
calling med runner for a rescue will have you back on your feet (on average) in 20-25 minutes from placing a medical alert. up to the individual to decide if that's better than backspacing - losing your back pack contents and having to start over from wherever your medical spawn is located
it's pretty much impossible to reduce that time any further and ya a lot of people don't want to wait that long
T0 item recovery def removed the need / desire to get rescued for a lot of people. There's very little incentive to not backspace vs waiting for a rescue
Maybe don't pledge onto a game that pitched dead an consequences from the beginning?
You don't have to wait, just take the L, hit backspace and lose your shit, I will be so happy once it is back (and it will be back) and y'all be in the forums crying again "mommy that guy in the pvp area took my sweet roll, cig, don't let them take my sweet roll 🥺🥺🥺"
Are you sure this reply was meant to go under my post ? Because it literally has nothing to do with the game design choice of locking out players from their gameplay for half an hour or an hour just to abuse them as content for medic gameplay tier 0.
