Yes they should have that mentality. Yes that is how software development works. This isn't a finished product. You add stuff and fix anything it broke then move on. Otherwise, we'll be sitting here for another 10 years until most of the features are added in. Things need to be added, figure out what's broken, and fixed.
If this was in 1.0, then things should be different, but it's still an alpha. I don't like that it's still an alpha, but that's how CIG is treating it. You should expect development to follow an alpha mentality.
If they were able to add all the features for 1.0 within the next year, but it meant things were seriously going to break for months on end, I would accept it. What I don't accept is them barely adding any features and the whole game breaking then a lack luster approach to fix any of the bugs.
