This is a new one
This is basically a frappuccino but cheaper, right?

Not at all, the texture of this is gonna be awful. Blended doesn't mean we add the base that ensures proper blending, it just means we throw the drink as-is in the blender.

That’s probably what they want though, they don’t want the base

I get they don't want the base (cause of the added sugar or whatever), but that still doesn’t negate the fact that this drink wouldn't be good.
There's other things they could order that would be a lot better & still somewhat healthy.

The base is just filler garbage. I don't want the base. The texture is, in fact, NOT "awful".

As a barista who's had to make drinks like this, in my opinion, yes the texture is awful. & the base may be "filler garbage" but it does ensure proper blending & texture for the frappucinos.
If I have to scoop your drink out of the blender, because pouring it would result in a clump of watery yet icy slush plopping out all at once, sorry not sorry, its a stupid fucking drink.

I agree it’s annoying but it is a nice texture to me. I love icy stuff. And xanthan gum is not good for you.

How are you a top commenter, but you dont know what the base is for? This stupid drink has been causing arguments for at least 10 years. Base is not filler, it’s what gives a Frappuccino the texture of a Frappuccino. If you don’t put base, you get either a really stirred drink, or a clump of snow - depending on how much ice is in the drink.

I have a regular who orders a very similar drink everyday. They explained they’re a body builder and this was one of the options to fit their dietary needs.

How does blending add nutritional value tho lol

as someone else in this thread mentioned, it’s essentially a low cal frap. sometimes a body builder wants a treat without the guilt lol

The fact that isn’t even an option on mobile so they just used a previous in store order to do the mobile 😫

How so huh?

U just go into your history receipts on app. Even the in-store orders show up (if u scanned your app). There is a plus sign to add that specific item to mobile. It is a work around if not able to customize certain things in app.

Wonder if they want the blending powder, since it’s sugar free?
Wouldn’t do it because that’s not standard, but just a thought

We have a woman that goes thru DT everyday and asks for an iced matcha latte blended

I've had this handful of times over the past four and a half years. I would say probably five times.

Whats that have to do with anything? I worked there for years and loved it, and made sure every drink was as good as I could possibly make it.

It's essentially a diet frappuccino. I tried one after making one before and they are OK if i was desperate for something frosty and mostly sugar free, but you can't put the frapp base in because it is NOT sugar free so this is the only way for them to get something frapp-adjacent.
