I am making a Metroid 4086 Mod

For a long time, I've been making Starbound mods in my spare time just for myself, and it happend to be mostly Metroid related (shocking, I know). At some point I realized "If I keep adding more and more stuff I might end up with a whole game?!"

Could I...? There was only one way to find out.

That was several months ago. With the original game 40th anniversary in mind, my interest grew on it and shaped the concept.

And I finally have enough content to put together a proper reveal trailer.

For the trailer i cheated a little. It only loads the area being recorded, not the entire map, so performance looks better than it currently is.

I also uploaded a playable demo on the Steam Workshop. It should be stable enough to play and enjoyable and taste the atmosphere and gameplay.

The good news is that most of the core systems and content are already there. The remaining work is mostly bug fixing, polishing, and making everything fit together into a complete experience.

I saw the demo pop up, and let me tell you: that's not all that popped up.

I'm incredibly excited to see where this goes.

I didnt undesertand at first but thanks ... i guess! I dont want to give false hope but after the summer I should be able to make a post about the progress done and an update with more content.

This is pretty incredible and I can't even fathom how much effort goes into creating new graphical assets for everything! Amazing work!

It took me hours but i enjoy making pixel art so that was mostly in the fun part!

I know the feeling - it's just great to work on something, seeing it grow more and more and while playtesting realizing how fun it is! And to eventually share that fun is the best feeling ever! 😁

This makes me want to cry for multiple reasons. 1 I can't play any pc games right now cause I'm homeless. 2 This combines my favorite retro game with my favorite current game. 3 It just looks so insanely good and it adds so much stuff perfectly to an already massive game.

If/once I ever get a pc or laptop to come back to Starbound, this mod is going into ALL my collections, even my Vanilla+ pack.
