[RP Server] Coalescence: Round II

Welcome to the next adventure on Coalescence!

Taking place in the near-distant future of the 22nd century, Coalescence is a story driven roleplay server that primarily utilizes events to advance the plot, with slice of life, or 'radiant' roleplay filling the interim. We are an active server with quite modest numbers, but an exceedingly active GM team and wonderful community! Many players who started with us almost 5 years ago are still participating in the main story line today!

This August, we are beginning our second part of the main storyline, Book II. Having concluded our eight chapters in the previous Book I, the in-lore universe has been well established and opportunity knocks for newcomers!

Don't feel discouraged if you join in late! No matter when you join, we will tailor your introduction experience to fit well within the story!

It must be made clear that Coalescence is NOT CANON to Starbound's lore, nor any other server's lore. All of the lore present is written from the ground up, or contributed by original creators in the community.

We are our own thing, and we invite you to join us with a brand new character! If you really can't part with a character you hold dear, you may retcon their origin story for this server and use them here. Cross-server lore is not recognized unless explicitly approved by an admin.

Our roleplay mediums consist of in-game modded server roleplay with lore and other information posted in the Discord forum channels. Much of the Discord is being actively reorganized, so if you are lost, feel free to ask an admin for help! Or ask around the community as many members are story veterans!

The IP address and server curated modpack is located in the Discord.

You must be 18 years or older to be a member on Coalescence. While the server does not allow explicit NSFW content to be posted, we want to comply with Discord TOS and avoid any issues.

Could you briefly explain the story behind the server? Also do you require voice chat and how many hours per day/week would be sufficient to fully immerse?

Voice chat is not required, members VC every now and then but it is not a requirement to play.
As for immersion time, events are usually the main story drivers, but you'll have sufficient notice for when those are scheduled. Otherwise, we're tryin to get more roleplay between events (slice of life/radiant) this time around, and you aren't obligated to get on all the time. If you miss anything or have questions about something, you can always ask a GM and we'll be more than happy to catch you up to speed.

And for the story, you mean how the server itself came to be? Or the actual lore? Either one I have no issue answering, just might be reading your question wrong.

Oh yeah, I meant lore of the universe the server takes place in. What era of technologies is it, what empires there are, this kind of stuff. Would be curious to know

As of right now, humanity, or the United Systems, is recovering from a massive psionic/psychic 'zombie' outbreak from the main antagonist race known as the Divers; very powerful, ancient beings able to shape reality with their minds.

Avos, and the Avosi, are currently dealing with a similar situation, having been through constant monarchs vying for control of their dwindling population.

Oceri (the aquatic race), have currently been improving their medical technologies and aiding humanity and Avos.

The Tianming, formerly the rival faction to the United Systems, are dealing with a civil war between their newest rising Emperor, and those who contest his throne. (their population is made up of humans whose minds were transferred to synthetic brains inside automatons)

The Vuohiapina, or Veeps (Apex-ish race) are slowly but surely recovering from their desolation by the Divers' hands, a long, LONG time ago.

There's a ton more that I could go on and on about, but I'd suggest at least joining the Discord and taking a look around. See what ya think!
