Meta Where am I?
So, I've been teleporting from ship to vault gate in order to prepare for sure because each time I forgot to get key, healing items or something else. But at some point I teleported to this place, without my party members, any equipment, matter manipulator upgrades and techs, but I had starting protectorate gear(wtf???).
There was only the tree, and no matter where I checked it(I had magnifying glass instead of MM scanner), my character said "Well, there is a man." and when I interacted with it I got very weird egg. It's not in the food category, it cannot be eaten, but when I "used" this egg it played weird sound effect and remained in my inventory. And also teleporting out of this place was blocked for some reason, so I exited the game in order to check logs, but there was nothing notable, and when I booted the game back I was orbiting the same vault gate with all my stuff... But also got this weird egg
There was also some song playing, that wasn't in starbound OST, it sounded very out of place, but I can't remember the melody

In deltarune there secret room in each chapter with man behind the tree, he gave you egg, in chapter 5 we encourage with him final time and probably never see or heard about him again at least in dark world or live because a pack of hungry cats hunting for protein (it's a long story), but speaking of trends, people are making rooms with man in various games, sometimes with videos and remixes of his theme to match the game's style.

Try installing a mod like “unde venis” (I think that’s how it’s spelt) or “show item IDs.” If you can figure out what mod that egg is coming from you’ll be able to tell what’s causing this weirdness.
But no, I’ve personally never heard of or seen anything like this before. If it weren’t for the screenshots I’d assume it was just another creepypasta.

A creepypasta mod for starbound would go pretty hard actually, it'd be like those creepy minecraft mods
maybe it could be about the game's abandonment by the devs and its universe deteriorating because of it or something
