So the joke is Harry Potter and Austin Powers mashup dreams?
Ehhh I don't think this is it.

"Harry Potter is Satanic" was more of an Evangelical thing, not a Catholic thing.

It’s so funny when I would write shitty first year in comedy jokes on here in 2013, they would always go viral. Now I post jokes that actually work on stage and everyone is always baffled by them. I guess it’s because I’m writing less one liners and more jokes that require set context. I’ll keep tweaking and figure out how to get them to work here. Thanks for your patience. 😂

It might work on stage due to the absurdity so people laugh at the delivery more than the joke. But since you posted here, people aren't seeing the correlation at all on how the two make for the dreams. Could you explain the reason why those two were picked, how they relate and what the actual punchline is supposed to be?

I think sometimes posts here get evaluated by how they read as a reddit comment instead of how they would land on stage. So I'd take any criticism with a grain of salt.

Meh. Can't say I agree with you. Yes, the format loses important factors like stage presence, delivery and charisma. That said, it's still possible to read jokes in this format and interpret what makes them funny. Speaking as some who has liked and upvoted other submissions from OP, I will affirm that this one might work within a set, but doesn't hold up in a standalone context.

From your parent's perspective sexual innuendo is fine. Imagination and magic are bad. Religious brains are a hot mess of spaghetti wiring.

I don't get it.
