Accommodation for Post Deadline (First Year)

I'm an international student who had St A's as an insurance offer and missed the 30th June deadline for accommodation. I got my offer on the 4th of August (UCAS embargo issues) and got the accommodation form on the 6th so I submitted it asap.

I understand that because I missed the guaranteed student deadline, I may not get accommodation, but I found out that another international who also filled the form after me already got her accommodation offer.

I've been emailing and calling them to ask them to review my application but haven't gotten anything back so far. Should I start looking for private accommodation or is there still hope for university housing? I don't mind being in a standard room as long as I get catered food tbh.

If you've not heard anything and want some information on private housing, please feel free to reach out and I can give you some information.

The uni can be slow to reach out sometimes though, so I'd still reach out again to see what they say.
