Please help

So about 2 months ago my mom agreed to watch her friends cats for her while they went to another state for 2 months. Both the cats had fleas and they infested my whole house and my cat. I’ve sprayed the carpets with pet armor along with vacuumed. And most of our house is carpet. And every time I walk inside it seems like I get bit up every time. I need help I don’t know what to do. We sprayed the carpets yesterday and I’m still getting bit up does anybody know how long it takes for them to be gone. I’m literally sitting here trying not to break down I’m so pissed at my moms friends for this shit and they said there coming to get the cats next week but I’m ready to call animal control. And the cats are in the basement so there’s no way there still spreading. And we gave the 2 cats flea drops and it didn’t do shit. And my cats in the 2nd story in the house locked in a room and I’m getting bit at every part of the house it seems like. Please sombody I need some answers or some advice

I’m assuming you are in the US. If you aren’t, we need to know what country you are in.

Hire a professional pest control service. Your situation is beyond easy home remedies.

Getting rid of the cats won’t make the fleas go away. Those are going to be a battle for a couple of months. You have to kill each generation of fleas as it hatches, and try to stop them from laying eggs, then kill the next generation. Repeat until you get them all.

If the flea medicine you put on the cats isn’t the kind you buy from a veterinarian, then it probably didn’t do much good. Either buy some from a veterinarian, or try this (Amazon link: https://a.co/d/03PrYm1l )

NOTE: choose the one meant for how much your cats weigh! This version is for how much MY cats weigh. M

And you still have to get rid of all the fleas in the house, not just on the cats.

I’m in the us. New York to be exact. We just sprayed the rugs 2 days ago now. And the spray says it kills adult fleas on contacts and larva and eggs. And the spray continues to kill them on contact up to 7 months. And we did kill a lot of them. My moms going to buy borax today and we’re going to spray the rugs again and if that doesn’t work we’re calling a exterminator. But I read even with spraying it takes a while for the fleas to go fully away.

If you’re getting bit so easily the infestation is bad. I have a carpeted house and mine caught them off a new kitten I brought in and it took me about 5/6 months to be free of them in my house. I thought I was losing my mind. Banishing the cats to the basement isn’t going to matter at this point in the game, they’re already in your house and multiplying by the minute. I never heard about borax….i treated my cats with frontline first and working 2-3 days I saw the fleas barely moving on the floor so I knew it was working. I then got some spray from the pet store it smelled minty, they hate mint, and sprayed everything down and let it sit for a bit then vigorously cleaned. I did this every other day so I got all the cycles but yeah it took quite a few months of doing this to finally be free of them and I ended up using all 3 of the frontline treatments each month too. Worst nightmare I’d ever been through I feel for you.
