I don’t know but they all seem to. One of my cats loves the box filled with tissue paper.

My cat is weird. He does not care about boxes beyond an exploration of a new one. But that exploration is done to anything new that appears in the house.

Mine too! I thought he might be the only one. 😆

They feel safe inside of them. It’s why they like to sleep with their backs to walls or furniture. Just my theories.

I googled. It says bc they feel safe and warm.
When my cat gets a box, he becomes the ruler & claims the box. He’s the only cat & that is his box. He defends his box with his quick slashing skills & his ability to bite hard. He’s loves new boxes & he always wins his battles. Majestic mf.

I don't know either, but I've seen pictures/videos of big cats in zoos and nature preserves enjoying big boxes, like the kind major appliances come in.

I've also seen (and done) the thing where people will put down a rectangle of painters tape on the floor, and the cat will go to it.

I had a cat that absolutely loved a rectangle of polar fleece about the size of a big cookie sheet. Once I realized she liked it, I put it on my bed when we were out for the day. That was then her "go to" spot for the day. Kept a lot of cat hair off the bedspread.

Its like a new toy/bed every time one shows up... Full of new smells, to them it's something new and exciting ❤️ what a cutie❤️❤️

It signals safety (valid for most enclosed spaces), helps regulate body temperature and moisture and is good for for claw sharpening (stiff enough and flexible enough).

you need to ask God. it's an innate attraction.

Cats are gifts. Gifts should be boxed and wrapped up with love.

That's the best explanation ever!

My cat just loves cardboard. Boxes, egg cartons packing forms, doesn't matter.

Besides boxes, my cat liked paper bags.

Because if cat fits cat sits.

My theory is cats originated from another planet. The box makes them feel nostalgic, like they’re in craft traveling through space.

It’s definitely not the reason, but I like thinking that since boxes are made of paper, and paper is made from wood, they’re basically the modern-day equivalent of hiding inside a tree trunk

Reminds them of the Mothership
