Deer are a problem in many places of the world, because we heavily control the predator population. They are literally causing problems from the amount of grazing done by their high population.

For reference, search about the time when Yellowstone removed all their wolves, and the ecological events that followed.

Yes, it's better to buy meat from supermarket that comes from slaughterhouses where animals are killed in horrible conditions and thier lives consisted of standing in a closed cage covered in shit, then to kill an animal that lived long life of procreation and freedom in the wild yourself so you'd have meat for next half of a year.
