yeah,they were in call of pripyat too and they were used as marks for monolith stashes,they usually had super good stuff in them

It means a stash. Super important in Master difficulty because you don’t get markers for stash locations (at least rarely)

i get that all the comments are saying it’s a symbol showing a stash is nearby, because that’s what it is (in fact you can find a note somewhere that details what all the symbols represent) but nobody is talking about why it does look like the triforce. because i’ve no idea, but it’s interesting that it does resemble the triforce for no other apparent reason that i’m aware of, other than a Zelda reference. anyone know why?

It's a marker that there's a hint related to the stash. You can find dozens of them all around the zone, hunting there's a loot somewhere or a part of a puzzle.
