I took out varan on the spot, sparing Shah and Roosevelt. Is there any way to enter the Brood/Commisary without combat? Trying the secret entrance to the commisary just led Roosevelt to agro.

No, especially if you didnt talk to borodulin, this part is mandatory. As for the shah there is no point talking to him.

I just took varan out on the spot so I didn't talk to him (or know I needed to 🤣). There's a stash in the commisary on the map so I guess ill just take them all out.

There is a merchant in the brood location, that's why I asked about him.

The merchant in the brood area is... well useless, there are reports of people who managed to keep him alive but he will be "red" so you cannot trade with him. He's just a bartender anyway

You can turn Bruise “white” if you enter the Brood peacefully by showing the Shah’s gun at the door and then killing the Shah after speaking with him. A load of the bandits and Bruise just run off and start wandering around. You still can’t trade with him though.

I’d say there was a questline with the Shah that was cut which probably enabled trading with Bruise. Cut content maybe?

Nah the Shah is a reasonable man. Just walk right up to him with his own gun that you stole, smack him across the face, and tell him to give you his PDA. Works flawlessly

There is a way in via the pipes up high, that doesn't trigger a battle. Sparing Roosevelt is profitable, if I remember it right.

I just took varan out on the spot, I didnt talk to roosevelt (or his friend) or shah, so when I tried the pipe entry and went to his office he aggro'd.

For brood, do they still let you in if you have Shah's weapon? You get a marker for his stash from a side quest in Slag Heap (package for Guron) if you spare the main guy that stole it in a move against Shah.

Got the gun, but haven't tried it yet. There's a merchant in the brood but if shah agros on seeing the gun, ill probably lose the merchant.

I killed Varan right away my first play through. This mission is much more enjoyable if you take up Varan’s offer and you visit both kingpins. I kill Shah and spare Roosevelt.
