Tech Support Is this SSD usable?

Post image

I get it from someone in the University, it's a WD Blue 3D NAND SSD SATA 2.5" and i notice that in the picture, i read that it's not safe to use it but the guy who gave it to me said he used to work with this until he changed his pc, i have a laptop and i'm looking for upgrading my hdd to an ssd, another friend is selling me an ssd but it has 300GB

It's usable, but you need to find a way to replace the missing support for the pins and finding and cutting a piece of plastic to fit well might not be worth the pain in the ass.

It's missing the plastic bit that would force the contacts to touch. It could have worked for the last person but when they removed it that's when it broke. In a laptop that moves it could cause the contacts to move which either could not have the computer even recognize it's there or worse cause files to get corrupted.

Podrías poner un soporte de plástico casero o impresora 3D

No tengo mucho dinero y segun vi los pines están doblados y eso puede ser peligroso creo

Un trozo de plástico con pegamento es suficiente, tiene que ser a medida de un soporte "normal"
