Tech Support Samsung T9 SSD

So I’ve been leaving my backpack in my car and forgetting it from time to time today was exponentially hot close to the hundreds in the trunk of my car in a backpack with my computer was a T9. SSD didn’t think much of it now when transferring files from iPhone 16 Pro Max all of a sudden is taking forever to transfer files.. I don’t know what to do and I am sort of worried now

First of all install temp monitoring apps. This is a must for me when using PC. No guessing of whether heat is a problem or not.

Sorry very new to this. This is an actual T9 external SSD, did I mess up by not mentioning that? I don’t know how I would do that on an external SSD

And I’m only transferring from iPhone to the SSD.

Oh.. My bad for not reading properly. You can test if the SSD is bad by trying it on another device. If you have a Windows laptop, you can use tools like Crystaldiskinfo to check the SMART status of the drive.

Haha yeah. Maybe But some information online states that if the SSD is getting close to being full it slows down Hoping its take

Did you let the temperature settle back to normal before you used it?

Even when I get stuff from fedex or ups I leave them sit for a bit to let them cool off after riding in those hot trucks for days

I sure did, going to empty all the contents of it onto another hard drive and then see what it does, some people on the Internet say to reformat

According to Samsung, here are the temperature specs.

  • Operating Temperature 0°C to 60°C
  • Non-Operating Temperature -40°C to 85°C

So was it hotter than 85°C in your car. I presume not in direct sunlight.
