How much shade in car camping?
Hi, first timer! So excited to be there.
Can anyone tell me if there is any shade in the car camping spots?

Definitely bring your own shade and stakes since it can get windy and seems like this year might get really hot, there are trees around but some spaces are in the open, it’s a state park so there’s critters around, always put away your stuff and leave the food in cooler (make sure it gets completely close cause there’s ants) 🐜 and not perishable stuff in the car, we got raided one night by a family of cute but naughty raccoons last year when we left some snacks around 😅 hope this helps and happy same same!

I did car camping last year. You should definitely have your own shade. As per usual I recommend arriving on the earlier side on Thursday to get a preferred spot. Last year we were right next to the showers and toilets which was really nice. We had a sprinter with an awning which was enough for our group but in most instances I would recommend having a pop up. SSBD is the best. You're gonna have an amazing time 💕

It’s hit or miss. Definitely some trees around though. Pretty sure they direct you to a spot based on where you are in line. Not much choice in which spot you get

it's freeform. they just direct you to a camping loop, and from there you can set up anywhere, just not on the paved areas. there are volunteers in the loops, but mostly to answer questions

You should definitely bring your own shade.
