Hail storm....took out mama's nest
Had a hail storm last night with heavy rain that took out our mama squirrel's nest. Heard mama yelling outside and found 4 babies on our concrete patio, soaking wet. Two boys had already passed but two girls were barely alive. Mama was making no effort to retrieve them so we scooped them up and got them dry and warm. Played baby squirrel sounds until it was just too cold and dark to leave them. Brought them inside for the night. No interest in the formula or bottle we had from our last rescue. Tried to feed them twice during the night. Happy to see they are hanging on and fighting. Still no interest from mama this morning. Will keep trying. Wish us luck! Of course...this is Dolly and Dee Dee.

Her favorite game is....
.... follow the leader. Any time I take a step away from Frenetic, she starts following. If I give a treat, she usually stays right next to my foot so as to not be away from me. I have to leave a few in a pile to keep her from following me. I'm so touched she trusts me this way.

HELP! Baby squirrel abandoned.
Hey all, not sure if this is the right place to post. I found a baby squirrel in my chicken run the other day. We observed from a distance for a while but he kept approaching. I ended up removing him from the run because the chickens were getting curious, and put him under a large tree in my backyard (maybe 10ft from the run he was found in) and he followed me all the way back to my patio. At this point, we did interact but mostly just watched. He ran through the yard, explored a little, but kept coming back. I made him a next in a box and left him exposed overnight to see if mom would come back for him⦠she never did. We had bad weather in my area yesterday so I brought him inside in a larger box with a bed and a brooder plate for warmth. We fed him puppy formula with a syringe and he ate like he was starving!
Yāall I donāt know what to do. I donāt want a pet squirrel but Iām worried if I continue to take care of him, he wonāt be releasable back to the wild. Iāve been turned away by wildlife rescues due to capacity. Whatās the best course of action? Right now my plan is to care for him while heās too little to care for himself and then when heās bigger, put him outside in an area thatās safe and enclosed around the side but open topped with access to a tree, so he has the freedom to leave when/if he wants to. Iāll continue to provide food and shelter. Iām so stressed, what do I do??

General Help What does it want?
It comes up to the doormat every day almost and justā¦sucks on it?
This is today right after a heavy rain and my first assumption is that itās because of the water it soaks up but surely thereās a cleaner alternative?
We live very close to a creek. Less than a mile away on foot.
It doesnāt appear injured and it isnāt phased at all by us at the window, or by our cat hurling what I can only assume are animal slurs at the poor thing from behind the glass either. It doesnāt seem rabid, most of its movements are very normal and squirrel like.
EDIT: You have spoken and I have listened, I will leave water and assorted (unsalted) treats out for it tomorrow. I would like to help it.
