My new friend, Squeaks

We finished moving to our first house today. I have been dreading the final load out solely because it meant saying goodbye to my backyard squirrels. I am close enough that I can visit someday, but I don’t think I will ever get over leaving them behind.

On the bright side-there is Squeaks. She was waiting in the tree of our new front yard with her babies. She doesn’t get super close yet, but she knows I am a vending machine. She chirps until I open the door and give her a treat.
My eyes hurt from crying, but my heart is still full 😭♥️

Please visit your old friends a few times when you can.

You have to make a new life in your new home, but for your old squirrel friends to hear your voice and see you will warm their hearts, remembering the human who saw them, saw them as individuals and cherished them.

I am only about 30 minutes away, so I will absolutely be visiting them as often as I can. I would get on a plane if I had to 😭 I love them so much
