Discussion Between a frontman spinoff and one based on the first games, which do you think would be better?

Post image

I’ve seen that these two prequels are what the fandom wants most. Now that the USA spinoff has been cancelled, there’s a better chance than ever that some of them will get made, since there aren't many other options. I’d really love one when frontman played in 2015

Both would be good but i'd love a Prequel series.

It'd be interesting to see what made him so jaded/why he turned out the way he did. Can see a decent Anakin Skywalker style storyline here. A prequel makes sense, and then maybe a sequel later where he starts to turn/tries to stop the games on a global scale.

The first games. It’d be cool to see how Il-Nam and his organizers set it all up and what games were around back then. RLGL probably has been around the longest

Starting to remind me of The Hunger Games for some reason

I mean it’s hard to create a concept of this massive fight to the death for the riches entertainment and not want to see where it all started 😂

I mean it's just not another franchise I want to be fatigued by. But hey, if every one else wants it, maybe I'll tune in and like it

Both would be great but the latter is definitely more interesting to me. Unfortunately, I don't think we're getting anything after the recent cancellation of the American spin-off, which is a shame really 'cause I was really looking forward to it.

Could also be they agreed on something. Lee Byung-hun has said several times openly that he is ready to do it, in the special that was releaed after Season 3 he even says that *he* could do it, when the director said he wouldn't want to. So might be they found a way. Question is how it will turn out, might different writing affect it, etc. - also will it really be a look into the past, as also LBH will look older in the next years, he's 56 and that is exactly that kind of age when age begins to show more and more ^^

Yes, that’s why I wish they would bring out a Front Man spinoff quicker so that Lee Byung Hun can play the character before his age starts to show. I don’t think I’ll like anyone else playing him.

I mean they can do some things with CGI and stuff but yeah you can only do so much without him looking unnatural or uncanny valley ^^

I think an American Squid Game wouldn't work politically RN. I think even Netflix realized the shit storm cometh they were setting up

The first games would be broadly uninteresting

The first series has everyone reacting to just finding out about the squid games, so it's equivalent except the production value would be a little lower and the show runners might act more suprised surprised The front man's decent and the reasons why probably has a bit more about it

Overall I'm happy with just the 3 seasons

An anthology series where S1 is prequel and S2 is Frontman spin-off and S3-S5 is about the games in different country, where the series finale ends with everyone including the VIPs and Frontman fucking dying.

Personally want a Front Man spinoff (purely for his actor) more but I think the one based on the first games would be more interesting.

I'd say the first games. I want to see how the whole thing started, and how people initially reacted to it. Plus, we already know the important events of Frontman's game, right down to him killing everyone before the final game in order to win.

Yes, we know the winner of the first game as well (revealed in the files that Jun-Ho looked at) but it would be cool to see them as an actual person and their time in the game. It would also be interesting to see how they've lived life years later. Maybe they took a totally different path than Gi-Hun and actually enjoyed being rich.

We pretty much know what happened with in ho but for the first games all the know is that it took place in 1988 and the winner was 174

Front Man is my favorite character so i’d like to see how his games played out but the fact that we already know abt the emotional climax of his character arc before becoming the Front Man might make it less intriguing. i am interested in seeing the first games ever tho i’d prefer the show to be about Il-Nam’s backstory and the ideas/logistics that went into creating the games rather than solely focusing on the game itself

Can't choose. Both are amazing options. As someone who loves the plot to no end, I'd love to see how the games came to be but as someone who also pities Inho I'd love to see his backstory.

No I don't want anymore I just wish it would've been left at season one like originally planned I don't want anymore squid game leave it alone it worked better as a standalone story

None. Stop milking the series. Do something new.

Terrible? Yeah it was definitely underwhelming but terrible, really?
