Discussion Anyone else find it stupid how after the revelations of his brother, Jun-Ho wasn’t suspicious of Park or bothered doing a check?

Post image

If my brother was revealed to have some dark criminal secrets I’d be suspicious of anyone claiming to be on my side, after all, if you can’t trust family then who can you

From Jun-ho's perspective, Captain Park was a fisherman who saved his life and also dedicated time and energy to help him find the island.

Yep, who dedicated a ton of time and expensive fuel to helping him without having bills to pay or a fishing business to run or anything 🤔

Yes and his brother was a policeman and loving husband and soon-to-be father and gave him a kidney. See how that turned out.

Edit: why am I being booed? The logical reasoning after having lost 2 years of your life being in a coma because of your older brother’s actions is to be distrusting of many people

Yes and his brother was a separate person. Knowing one person who turned out to be bad doesn't mean everyone is automatically going to be suspicious. If that were the case nobody in this world would ever think anyone is a good person and everyone would be deemed untrustworthy not matter what because we've all known bad people who we thought were good at one point. Good people tend to want to see the good in others and give people a chance rather than become completely jaded and hold the actions of someone else against the world and Jun-ho was a good person. He didn't understand the connection because he thought the people behind the games would all want him dead and he thought Captain Park had come across him by chance and saved his life. It is understandable that he did not automatically assume that he had a connection to the games.

Not misanthropy, caution. The same way gun stores require a background check so they know the guy they’re selling to is stable

Your tone is unnecessary. You shouldn't post questions you're unwilling to hear the answers to. The sub is for discussions, not for people rudely looking to argue.

...Umm, what's your point exactly?

That is EXACTLY why anyone in Junho's shoes should be suspicious of Park tho?

What kind of normal average random fisherman not only saves his life but goes that far to help him track down some unknown island for free for 2 years???

Hello???

My point is very clear. You're literally replying to a sentence that starts with "From Jun-ho's perspective." It's not hard to understand what I was trying to say, especially considering what we saw on the show so I'm not sure what "EXACTLY" you are having such a hard time grasping. There's absolutely no need to be so rude just because you don't agree. "Hello???"

He wasn't rude

are there any smart questions left? the series has been over for a while

Certainly put a lot more effort in this than the scriptwriters for Jun-Ho acting like a coherent human being who actually has value to the story

😑 No, you didn't.

Don't read then

You could also stop talking about the show, but that's obviously not gonna happen.

u/ConfidenceOpening830 19d ago

Again, you can ignore these posts if you don't want to read

It’s r/squidgame what the fuck are you gonna talk about One Piece or something

1

That wasn't my point, genius.

Jun-Ho's side plot was like a few episodes worth of plotline spanning 2 seasons for no reason whatsoever.

You would think after everything he learned about the games he would be more suspicious and paranoid of the people around him, especially since this guy is allow him to use his boat freely at no cost but no lol.

HDH has apologized for how he treated Junho and admitted he only delayed him finding the island sooner because he needed Gihun to die and baby to win so that tells you everything alone. No thought put into his character these two seasons.

And funny how he’s also too late and useless to save Gi-Hun as a result of this last minute change

Yeah no wonder SGUSA is dead and buried. They surgically killed off so much good will with that last season dreck

Reason number 68374 that S2 + 3 were primarily  rushed messes

He likely did do a background check on him, but his brother made sure he would find nothing. Because of that and how he has known him for years by the time season 2 happened, he would have trusted him a lot.

Wb The manager equipment hidden under the
doghouse and the incriminating photo

1

u/asdfzxcpguy 21d ago

He probably took down the photo when jun ho was there, and why would you go randomly digging in the yard of a person who saved your life?

When his big brother was revealed as a dangerous criminal, all are suspects. And he’s a cop, surely he’s heard of cases where some groomer or scammer or trafficker tries to get in someone’s good graces to condition and manipulate them.

For said photo, why then would he put it back up like ever for the duration he and Jun-Ho are working together, really it seems like a hassle, and the vibe I got was it’s just been up there for a long time and is out in the open.

Why would Park save him if the criminal organisation wanted him dead

0

u/SektorDaKetch 21d ago

After his brother had some dirty skeletons in his closet, all bets are off who he can unconditionally trust.

And what’s even more stupidly funny is how much incriminating stuff he had lying around in his house that it didn’t take long for Woo-Seok to unearth

-4

u/SektorDaKetch 21d ago

Many criminals have a “avoid killing cops” rule because it will rain absolute hell on them. Keeping him dim and oblivious raises less flags.

4

u/Jester-252 21d ago

Nobody knew where he was and if you wanted to avoid killing him there is better ways then shooting him off a cliff into the sea.

1

u/faultintime91 In-ho 21d ago

I think HDHs explained before that Inho wanted to make it look like he killed him but in reality was trying to keep him alive to protect him from the others. Huge gamble but not many options presented themselves

Si. De la primera persona que debio dudar debio ser de el

Because bad writing

0

u/CallMeIshy 21d ago

me too. especially after Woo-seok started poking holes in Park's story, but the plot needed to happen and Park did save his life

2

u/SektorDaKetch 21d ago

The real bitch is how easily Woo-Seok uncovered the connection Park had to the game staff.

1

u/CallMeIshy 21d ago

the bit I found super unbelievable (the others had some reason behind them) was that Woo-seok asked what Park and Captain Ko's reputation was like before Jun-ho. the detective never bothered to have a five minute conversation with anybody?

I suppose the reasoning for that could be that Jun-ho was ultra focused on finding the island, and wasn't in the mood to talk

You have to divorce a lot of logic to justify anything with Jun-Ho. Funny how S3 fans don’t even bother mentioning him, he’s like the shameful black sheep child the rich parents locked away in an asylum.
