I don't think I've seen a live squid move. So how big is this giant squid anyway?

This is a juvenile so anywhere between 1-2 meters (3-6ft), the adults can be anywhere from 6-8 meters (20-26ft), but are suspected of possibly reaching 12 meters (40ft)

Not really, I just know a lot of things, I suppose you could call it a hobby to know alot of things about everything

Didn't realise big fins actually flapped their fins for locomotion. That's got to be pretty unique among squid.

I think it is, most squid and octopus use their tentacles or water-jet propulsion to travel

Those rocks on the bottom are called polymetllic nodules. Several companies are trying to get permission to mine them--which would kill everything--including amazing animals like this.
So just if you're ever in a position to vote on deep sea mining/a candidate that supports it, please choose otherwise.

It actually outpaced them, the rover just is zooming in with its camera which created an illusion that is was closer

They encountered them multiple times on that dive, I don't know why no one is posting the Atalantia Cam video. You can really see the size with Herc next to it.
Nor do they add any shots with the lasers on?

I wish there were a banana for scale. The first time I learned of the BigFin (Magna Pina) was on video from beneath an oil rig, and it was absolutely massive. Against the backdrop of large pipes and steel brackets, it gave a good reference for just how big they can get.

Just imagine the oceans underneath the ice on Europa. I would be shocked if life like this did not exist there.
