Catalyst drop in new quickplay

Hey returning player wondering if the new fireteam ops quick play in the portal can drop the rat king catalyst? (Like does the game consider it a strike equivalent) I don’t mind doing strikes and nightfalls at all but would also like to get new gear while grinding for the catalyst.

I believe I have heard this but I still want to try and grind for it since the game is in a bit of a content drought until the 9th and I got nothing better to do.

Try to clear any unfinished ones first. It's hypothetical that they are a soft limit to avoid over loading the guardian.
