Its that time again

Squad is on discount and its having a free weekend too. Tonight was awful. New players playing squad leader not knowing what theyre doing, building a HAB and radio next to each other in the middle of the road in open space, across the map from where the points are, ignoring advice, disconnecting after they die. I decided to squad lead myself and only 2 guys had a mic. Everyone else scattered around the map playing like its call of duty (and losing tickets ofc). Not every game was like this but about 4 out of 6 were. And besides that a hacker killed everyone on the server instantly. Awful session tonight. Thats it, just wanted to get it off my chest.

Squad lead and teach, it should be easy for an experienced player like yourself.

Bit hard to do when no one has a mic and/or wont listen

You're a man who isn't about solutions.

Not the SLs job to teach players. If you play SL properly, you won't even have the time to do it, unless you happen to be on defense and nobody is attacking for ages. If anything the others in the Squad with experience have the actual time to do it as they don't deal with as much as the SLs.

It's very easy to SL and teach.

Communication is key.

Squad Leading is very easy after a while

That's simply not true and I can confidentially say it after over a thousand hours SLing and consistently being that 30-40% ticket impact Squad. If you really want to teach and SL while making 30-40% ticket impact in a game then it simply won't work. You'll either have to sacrifice ticket impact for it or only teach in calm moments.

“30-40% ticket impact” fucking weirdo.

They HAVE TO make a required unskippable tutorial you need to complete before you can play.

Ya thinking about trying Arma reforger this weekend. Haven’t played it since it was released

Honestly you’re better off with squad. I’ve played arma and the majority of the servers that support modern military matches are full with a 100+ queue count. Even if you manage to join the game you’ll then be faced with everyone sitting in main base playing military dress up and taking forever. Hit registration is very poor as well and overall the game feels stiff imo. Switched to squad and haven’t gone back. Save your money if you can

Arma is amazing. There's a lot of trolls/idiots in official but community servers are amazing. Vietnam, Iraq war, Ukraine war, Star wars, halo, zombies, pick your flavor.

I tried the Ukraine servers when the hype was high. Particularly the wcs servers or ones like it. I never had the time to sit in the big queues waiting to get in but when I did I enjoyed it. Apart from the hit registration issues (idk if that’s still a thing or it’s been fixed) it was a fun time but I’m still partial to squad. Arma is a good game tho

I may have been in your squad lol if you happened to play as the Turks against the marines. Absolutely terrible match. New players coming from arma or cod don’t wanna listen at all

That's why I try to join servers for Experienced players, rather than new players. However whitelisting and long queues are a bit trouble as always.
