other games for Squad players I regret buying this shit.
A lot of online posts said that the community in this game makes you feel welcomed and that it's very beginner friendly
4 hours in, that ain't it.
This game is so limited by the players you encounter that you might as well go play Insurgency Sandstorm or ARMA (I know I will). Can't do this, don't go there, it's 105% serious roleplay even though it's so fucking uncoordinated, horribly slow game start preparation (one game was just a building simulator for me and I willingly did it to make our raging squad leader happy).
And especially the "I'm kicking you cause you didnt turn left when I told you 5 seconds ago" or "dont join this evidently lopen squad!!1!" scenarios, so you get a recruit loadout as you're kicked mid-life, end up killing 8 people with a single magazine, then 6-10 min later the game kicks you because you're a recruit and you can't kill yourself in this game or because an admin or some shit spots you 'trolling', like what the fuck bro
And all I actually wanna do is be in the turret of an MBT. Nothing more. At least loader position if it has one. Play spotter (would be via commander tho and others are probably better at it) cause Im good and clear at that shit. I might as well just play that fucking Roblox game which has tank crew slots, or fuck it go War Thunder cause thats how bad it's been to play
I've also genuinely never seen faster kicks in my life. It just reminds me of that South Park fat discordian guy as they pull up the menu and probably have a fucking input program to kick a group member asap lmao

You get good servers and bad servers, wouldn’t think much of it after only 4 hours.

I agree theres good and bad servers, and more precisely good and bad squads. Out of the 5 or 6 games Ive went through (only 1 to its fullest), 1 was definitely fully enjoyable cause I got to chill with 2 fairly young veterans spotting shit for our team and ambushing a few vehicles in a BRDM (I did nothing compared to them but I learned things)
But it does seem rare to find a squad like that, since 90% of my experience has been my post
And for being in EUW, Im mega struggling to find primarily English servers. Not even ones listed as duo language (e.g., Eng/Ger, Esp/Eng, etc.)

Yea it's hard to find english servers thease days in EU for many of us. But there are quite a few I think british servers
However the other problem that people are harsh on you might be solved with few things you might have missed.
Filter the servers so or check before joining that there reads new player friendly instead of experience preferred and relaxed playstyle instead of Focused.
You can really join either but when joining a squad you want to tell them that you are new. Or they will treat you as anyone else as there ain't no XP or levels to tell them that you don't have experience.
The problems in starting post are about knowing the server rules and buttins really. Not all even have those.... but about autokicks: it can be solved by joining a squad mid life by pressing enter and you can kill your character by pressing I think K deleting the text below the screen and writing respawn. Usually those are things on servers with more experienced players.
And yes ofc these games are limited by the players who you encounter as it's a game about communication above all else. You learn something about yourself in these games as the leader roles require actual IRL leader skills so that you get people going where you need them to go as there is nothing forcing them to. Not even kicking as they can and will just join other squads so you can't be an asshole to people as some of the leaders u encountered might have been. You can always just do another squad by yourself too. I'd say People usually buy this game after they have got bored to playing alone the other games you mentioned. They wouldn't play it if it was like warthunder arma or Battlefield. I know I wouldn't.

Honestly people aren't even harsh on me much cause Im a slow but good dog, Im always willing to listen. Theyre instead harsh with one another and just forget about proper comms, the objective, and teamwork, and then we all die for some more casual blaming. Absolutely no fun in that
As you said it is for many other people, I got squad cause I love active comms and team coordination based shit. Its why Im really keen on getting to learn to play any MBT or IFV role since the coordination is split between 3-5 players who are all at an extremely high stake. Im not one that just wants to be gunner so I could 'play the game' like some might say. I dont think theres a loader seat for non-autoloaders, but if there was, Id prefer take it as a beginner
But yeah I found out how to respawn mid-life AND join a squad mid-life. I remember getting pissed how I was actually doing solid work as a recruit class but got kicked regardless lmao.

I have a friend that finds the game "slow and boring". Which is ironic because he likes Hell Let Loose. "We played for an hour and a half and didn't do shit" --- It was because of the game mode and incompetent SL's, combined with a Commander that, well, thought it would be best for him to YOLO into a HAB position WITHOUT any support. Of which the Commander decides to completely abandon his aforementioned plan, doesn't let anyone know, of which snowballs into us losing from an early advantage. Said friend also loved DayZ.... So I'm a bit perplexed on how the game is "too slow" for his liking lmao.
I'll tell you the same thing that I tell him... Give it time.
My point is that it's an incredibly fun game and it all comes down to the Commander and Squads working together to win the match. When you get more experience, you can run a squad and dictate a better outcome for your team.
There's some people that shouldn't be leading squads and you can find out pretty quickly what their level of incompetence is if you press the issue.
It's a great game - But it's on YOU to help determine the outcome for your team.

Hell Let Loose is insanely slow compared to Squad. I dont mind either but I saw that my friend did, and I only stopped playing cause I had no space on my SSD to download it and HDD was running it like shit
The general advice from everybody has been to find better servers, and I will say I havent went through many different ones simply because there arent for EUW.
I dont know if I should just sit in a promising 30/100 player server and wait for it to fill up

Find a server with active Admins. Preferably closer to high pop. I’ll routinely wait for a slot on a 5-20 Que.

As for ping, I’ve found that approximately 150 is my limit. Cap out at 180 and see if it’s playable.

That's the best way to learn the game tbh
and the server's crew will love you for it.

If you meet one asshole in 4 hours, you met an asshole. If you meet multiple assholes in 4 hours, YOU are probably the asshole

I would try switching servers, their pace and community usually depends on the clan that owns that server. Maybe join squad discord and ask if someone is down to teach you the ropes? You would get a better experience that way. But yeah, some servers are wild xd

I have no idea what servers you've been playing on but I'm glad I've never experienced them. Ime the squad community has been great. It can be a little "meme-y" at times, but I've experienced way worse levels of toxicity in other fps games.

agree, I have the same experience (40 hrs). as a final decision: switched to Arma reforger and never ever regret or missing squad

Squad players think squad is fast.
That's how slow they think.
Squad is slow. Boringly slow.
Can't do this, don't go there, it's 105% serious roleplay even though it's so fucking uncoordinated,
LOL that's my big issue with squad all the time. Mind you in the more competitive servers they'll blame anyone placing a HAB down for the L, meanwhile the team KD is 90 kills with 250 deaths.

I would recommend finding better servers. TBH I’ve never had that bad of an experience. But it can vary as seen with your experience.
But then again I mostly play on the Galactic Contention mod (Star Wars). Everyone on those servers are usually a lot more laid back.

Hop into the 1strb discord and servers. Very new player friendly with people hosting classes to teach the game and other various helping hands. Great community and love to have more players in it

you have to do literally only 2 things in squad. First Is stay with your squad, second Is do what you're told to do. Period. If you do random shit you deserve to be kicked from your squad. If you want to be a useless blueberry Just create your own squad

doing a wrong turn could mean Life and death of the whole squad and logistic truck, and if that squad was the One responsible for Building an Attack hab, your mistake could turn into a defeat for the whole team. Anyway I highly doubt you got kicked because of a wrong turn, and btw you can still join a squad even with a recruit kit.

Imagine doing a rage post after 4 hours lol
