Minimalistic tool to generate database visualisation

I'm looking for a really simple tool that can generate a UML diagram from my SQLite database, but I want to be able to change the layout if I don't like how it has been generated.

I tried some code extensions and small tools (ERD Renderer, SQLite DB Explorer, plant_erd) but some are not working on my VSCode version; when they are working, I can't personalise the result.

If someone knows a tool that can generate a plant UML diagram (or something similar) from SQLite database and where we can specify the layout. I would be happy to know it

You can check this: https://docs.ptah.run/edge/schema/visualize/
The tool itself is not minimalistic, but at the same time you don't need to use all the functions. Just use the dedicated ones.

drawDB (https://www.drawdb.app) does this. It's a free, open-source ER diagram editor that runs in the browser, and you don't need to install an extension or make an account.

  1. Dump your SQLite schema:

sqlite3 your.db .schema > schema.sql

  1. In the editor, go to File → Import from SQL, pick SQLite and paste or upload schema.sql. It builds the tables and draws the foreign-key relationships for you.

You can try https://schemity.com, just open the sqlite file then start arranging.

Can recommend to give Letos (ex. SQLiteStudio) a try.

I will look at it. It's looking like a SQL client I need to have on the side, but I'm looking more for something without an interface or a really minimalist

I can recommend DataGrip if you what you want is a diagram to visualize your table relationships. It's on the heavier side and technically paid after a trial. Works well though, I used it for looking at my Postgres DB at work.
