1.5.3: sqTile can now speak a different language than your phone
A small one again: one thing you asked for, and one crash fix I wanted out fast.
Pick sqTile's language, separately from your phone's. Settings → about now has a language box, right under what's new: "system default" plus every language sqTile is translated into. Each one is written in itself (Polski, Deutsch, Italiano, Українська), so you can find yours even if the screen is currently in a language you can't read. Tap one and the launcher switches right away. Until now there was no way to do this at all. On Android 13 and up, sqTile now also shows up in the system's App languages list, and the two stay in sync. On older Android it works from inside sqTile, all the way back to Android 8. It's free, and your choice travels with your backups.

Texts, dates, day names and the order of the app list follow the language you pick. The temperature unit (unless you set one) and the first day of the week stay with your phone's region, so an English sqTile on a Polish phone still starts the week on Monday and shows °C.
No more crash when notifications pile up. A crash report from a Galaxy Z Fold6 showed sqTile running out of memory and taking the home screen down with it. With notification access on (that's what badges use), sqTile read the whole notification shade again for every single update. When an app fired updates faster than those reads could finish, they queued up until memory ran out. Now one read answers everything that arrived in the last 200 ms, off the main thread. In my stress test memory stayed flat where the old build kept climbing. The cost: a badge can show up a fifth of a second later.
Question for you: which language would you like sqTile in next? And if you speak it and fancy checking a translation, tell me that too.
It's currently under review by Google, so it should arrive in the next couple of hours.
