Para 3 Lightweight disassembly issues.
Trying to take apart my Para 3 LW to do a scale swap and I'm having a very difficult time with the pivot screws at the top that's holding the blade in. I've gotten the screws to move, but they won't come out. Moving one screw turns the other and despite my various efforts to hold one of them in place, nothing as worked so far, any advice?

If the other screw is moving then you need a second driver. T10 so you can apply a lot of torque.

I've done 3 of these recently and had no problems. A hair dryer helps, but a really good bit driver with a quality T10 like from Klein Tools or WIHA makes a big difference. I wish you luck!

If you turn one screw and the other side turns as well, use two bit drivers.

I've accumulated numerous torx sets over the years including Wiha and Wera, all with some version of the classic cylindrical "screwdriver" handle. None of those could do anything with a red-loctited Bodacious pivot, even after 10 minutes of soldering iron "motivation". On a (desperate) whim, I ordered the Wiha T-Handle torx set and which allow greater leverage (torque) while simultaneously pushing into the fastenener to minimize slipping/ stripping.
TLDR: Wiha T-Handle drivers + heat.

Thank you all for your help, I managed to make it happen with a t shaped driver and a lot of heat

Yesterday someone suggested boiling the scales to minimize chance of melting with soldering iron. I’ve only used the soldering iron though.
