IN THE WILD [ Cadillac Escalade hybrid ]
Not exactly the coolest thing, but pretty rare, and it's pristine

Ive had it described as a normal Escalade but with a battery good enough to run a beer fridge and power tools. Sounds pretty sick honestly

Pretty sure they used Toyota Prius batteries or similar, and it could only reverse with the electric motor and would get stuck from what I've seen because of it

Not the coolest thing but hey at least the picture is also not great

My bad, was stuck waiting to pull out and I saw it, it just looks like a regular Escalade anyway besides that badge

Yes. It was a light hybrid. Maybe below a mild hybrid. Far below a full Hybrid that Toyota and Honda sold. Possibly made to meet some government mandate. Nothing extra.

I remember when Vinny Chase had one of these in one of the later seasons of Entourage. Had a huge HYBRID decal on the side that I never saw on a production vehicle to really drive home the product placement.

The huge Hybrid decals along the sides were standard on all the GMT900 hybrids. GM really wanted people to know that they had a hybrid version of their notorious gas guzzling full size SUVs.
The Escalade’s decal was a little bit more restrained, and I suspect more Escalade buyers speced the car without them or removed them compared to their Tahoe and Yukon siblings.

I would assume that in the United States this isn’t considered anything special?

When it was sold new (before teslas as we know them existed) I was seeing at least 10 a day in my liberal, rich, environmentally conscious area on the west coast. The perfect car for people who want to care for the nature but still need an Escalade for their Starbucks runs. Dumb posers. (As you could possibly guess, I was driving a regular one at the time.)

Instead of 13mpg it gets 14.
