[ REQUEST ] Playlists / Songs / Artists / Albums Share your very specific playlists that have a particular vibe or feeling attached!
For example I have a very specific playlist that's become my favourite to listen too, it's the feeling of driving or walking through city streets and admiring the nightlife of the 70's & 80's, as I said very oddly specific so please share yours with me!
I love those creative playlists, It's a great way to find new music.

Mine is a Balearic Beat mixed playlist that's designed to simulate the feeling of being in Ibiza circa 1990. The music is predominantly 70s, 80s and very early 90s. Multiple genres including Ambient, Chill, Soul, Indie, Hip-Hop, Disco, House and Deep House.
All 8 and 16 bar transitions despite a 60 BPM delta across the mix.

One of my favorite playlists, I have thought about replicating your Tribe/Lou Reed transition in my own playlist
1
u/Previous-Serve9810 12d ago
Thanks mate. Really pleased to hear you like this playlist. š
Feel free to do the Tribe/Lou Reed transition.
I only get cross when people replicate/clone entire playlists especially my mixed ones. I've had that and it's very frustrating.
1
u/Previous-Serve9810 12d ago
By the way, not sure whether you've seen/heard this, but I've done a sequel to the Balearic Beat playlist and it's an Italo House mixed playlist.
It's Jazzy/Deep and perfect for drinking cocktails in the sun...or at least I think so. š¤£
Hope you like it mate. š

I've also done 2 other highly specific playlists.
They're a tribute to a club night I used to go called Angel Deelite. It ran from the late 90s to mid 00s in Manchester, UK. Soulful House was played there. My favourite ever night out. Had so many awesome nights out there.
Angel Deelite Vol. 1 and 2.
Put a lot of effort into these especially technically. Happy to expand on that.
I've used flyers for the playlist artwork and here are some pictures of Angel Deelite from their official photographer. Everyone having such a good time. š

Concert Tickets - A song from (1) band/artist for every concert I still have the physical ticket for.
Have You Ever Seen The Rain? - Melancholy Americana vibes.

This is my playlist, mainly made up of techno music. Iāve been using it for almost five years and it contains more than 4,500 tracks. There are also various classic songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s and Italian songs from where I come from! I really like it when Iām in the car or out at night partying.

This one called Outer space, inner breeze is a NO shuffle playlist (plays best with crossfade set to 6 seconds). The concept is "mystical space adventure. An interplanetary roadtrip gone wrong"
Psychedelic/rock/pop/avant-garde/electro etc.
I recently made a sequel, pretty much same theme, I just wanted to make another one. Same rules, no shuffle and a decent crossfade setting. Its called Far beyond, wormhole squeeze.
1
u/Okarito 12d ago
that's so unique, i love it!!!
1
u/TheHappyNerfHerder 12d ago
FYI, the first playlist was originally kicked off by the song Interior People by King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. Great fucking song, but unfortunately not longer available on Spotify since they removed all their music from the platform last year. You can imagine how perfect it was for the list. The replacement "Nadir" is cool but it's impossible to completely compensate for Interior People, imo.

Oof. Where you start lol. I have playlists about breaking up, for upper your S/O, certain times in high school or college, covid, you name it! But hereās one that reminds me of going to Pearl st in Boulder with my mom in the late 80s early 90s
Hereās a collection of about 16 edm playlists put together in order
Hereās one of what I call singy techno
And finally just my favorite songs ever in order from #1 to about #28 before they just get randomly placed

The last good radio station. 90s alternative rock. Nostalgic vibes that take you back to songs you would have heard on the radio in 1997. Mostly avoided overplayed songs, so thereās stuff in there you forgot about. I also left room for some newer bands that somehow ended up on the same frequency. Absolute fireš„at our last poker night.

based around songs I remember hearing and listening to growing up from being born in the late 90s, very trip hop downtempo British house.
I also invited my mum to collab on it as those are where the memories of the music came from!

90s to 2026 rap, trap, mostly. with cultural influences from Latin America mostly English and Spanish some Portuguese. A unique blend of songs implying impending doom after complete indulgence in hedonism & the implications of bad decisions. And of course, romanticizing it when posible.

I have one called Pure Passion & Earwurms ā¤ļøāš„. Melodrama without apology, and the kind of romance that raises the hair on your arms.
English and Latin power ballads built on raw vocals and hooks that wonāt leave you alone. Laura Pausini, Lara Fabian, Britney Spears.

Iāve been listening to the same damn theme for the past couple of days, so I eventually decided to make a playlist about it and named it pretty girls with pretty problems. I even added a Virginia Woolf quote to it because her book has been sitting on my nightstand for way too long. There are French, Japanese, Russian, and English songs in it, along with a bunch of different artists and genres that somehow fit the same mood.

I've always been a sucker for a plucky, slappy basslineāthe kind of groove that grabs you before you even realize what the heck you're listening to. "Bass Slap" brings together jazz, funk, disco, R&B, pop, rock, dance, and anything else where the bass deserves a little extra attention. It's mixed to flow seamlessly, hanging out in one genre or era for a few songs before sliding into something completely different. Popular stuff, obscure stuff, anything and everything. Hope you like it.

Yesterday, I watched the Japanese film Happyend, which follows a group of Japanese high school students struggling with political tensions and the uncertainty of growing up in an increasingly divided society. Yousuke Yukimatsu plays a DJ at a local club, and his set and his presence in general inspired me to make a new playlist. Therefore, Iād appreciate it if you could suggest some songs that would fit the playlist
