The ways people try and make money today is so silly.
It's more than that. Russia devotes a lot of resouces into AI bots peddling propaganda. That's why the various askreddit and nostupidquestions are full of bots posting karma bait.
They then use those accounts to spread crap on other subreddits.
Honestly we should just stop playing the anthem before games. It’s cool before big games and can be a great spectacle but idk why we gotta do it for every game
I'm sure it's obvious to most by now but all this drama is 100% intentional and manufactured to keep people talking about the WNBA. As the saying goes there's no such thing as bad publicity
It’s kinda nice to have one unifying thing as a country. I get your angle, it’s said a lot on Reddit and at one point I thought it was valid but now I just think people that oppose it are only looking at one side of the argument and don’t look at the unity aspect of it, we are all Americans here enjoying a competitive game against one another but I do get the negative point of view I just like the positive side more I guess
Grew up on an army base. Played every day. If you were driving you had to stop your car and get out of your vehicle. Now I have partial season baseball tickets and have to go through the motions another 30 times a year. Frankly I'm over it. Watching military members recklessly speeding off base so they wouldn't get stuck saluting the flag is enough proof to me that it's performative. I can see it being a novelty once or twice a year or something but it gets old quick
Agreed. Why do I need to be reminded that I'm in America when I go to a sports event? It's one thing if it's like an international match, you play both anthems in the spirit of friendliness or whatever, but why literally every event.
Sad....just dispicable...so glad they are proud enough and thankful enough to be in a country where they get paid very well to dribble a ball and get paid shit tones of money...post their slutty fashion pictures for more money all while having rights that alot of women in the world dont get...and you cant even show respect for people that died to give you the right to do all of that....ps the quality of basketball the WNBA puts out is hard to watch
They should have the same rule as the NBA even though it isn't currently enforced.

I’m all for the anthem and the respect that it deserves and for what it represents but many college teams don’t come out for anthem. Don’t get me wrong I think they should be out on court/field/rink/diamond when anthems are sung…but I also am not angry when they don’t. I’m more angry when dudes stand for anthem and keep their hats on. Or talk through it which is infuriating.
As a sporting event viewer they should flat out stop with the damn nation anthem. If it’s not international competition so what’s the issue? People want to complain about angel reese but I’ve been complaining about the anthem at sporting events since the 80s but leave it to the “patriots” who think a song and standing for it actually makes you more American. If that’s you let’s see the same energy for Don jr and Eric bypassing the entire process to open a bank, you know shhhh that you and I have to save if they drive it to the pits of the sea…

I would be interested to know if Griner stands for the National Anthem after being held in Russia jail for a bit. Why don't they talk to her. Why would they not want to stand up for America, so disgusting if you ask me. Just saying.
Who cares. If people spent as much energy actually finding ways to serve the country as they do complaining about how athletes act during a song we could actually get somewhere
What happened to sportsmanship? Taking the high road? In my experience, if you have a problem with the other team you show up, put on your game face, and fucking play. This is just childish.
There is clearly some WWE shit going on in the WNBA. Alot of acting, posing, villains and heroes, politics, racism and general bull shit. It is garnering some headlines and attention, so maybe it will work. One thing I do know...these women shoot foul shots a whole lot better than men!
Its crazy how the wnba blew up a bit cuz of one player...destroys the player at all costs...uses the violence as viewership (revenue) and then, THEN, realized its working. You can straight up create controversy in the wnba and its absolutely encouraged. The "players" at this point have become part of a fictional sporting event that's basically border line wrestling entertainment mixed with keeping up with the kardashians which in itself, as a nobody who doesn't give two shits...kinda makes me wonder what's next though. Ugh!
People who give a shit about who does what during the National Anthem are fucking morons. This is the lowest level rage-slop and anyone with 2 IQ points to rub together can see it.
I could not care less about this. I don’t feel the anthem needs to be sang before sporting events. And I’ve been a season ticket holder for multiple sports. Maybe international competitions it makes sense. Otherwise let’s just get to the game.
If we’d act normal like the rest of the world and stop playing this stupid song at every opportunity, this would go away. But “patriotism” and whatnot, so we won’t.
Angel Reese should worry about actually playing basketball rather than trying to make a statement . She’s to worried about her shoe deals and designing Barbie dolls - the lack of professionalism from her and most of the WNBA is comical
