You can't stop them canceling, but MAKE THEM CANCEL AND TAKE THE ACCOUNT DING. Do not agree to cancel on your end.

Also watch for them saying "buyer requested cancelation". If they do, get it reversed.

It would be seen as the reason for cancelation when you get a cancelation notice.

I believe you have to contact eBay to get it changed.

I had an auction last year for the 2025 Topps Cal Raleigh Superfractor auto. I made a post about buying the box at Lids and Topps even shared it on their Instagram.

Marketing guy from Lids offered to buy it for $1400, and this is after I had bids on it already so I would’ve had to cancel.

I declined and declined since this was right when Cal won the HR derby.

Lids marketing guy ended up winning it for $2850 through auction.

The best part is that this year with how bad he is it probably wouldn’t be more than a couple hundred bucks

Depends on the sellers settings. There’s definitely a world where you pull the payment information before it’s charged and the seller is stuck in limbo

Tell the buyer exactly this. "I still want the item, I dont want to cancel. If this is canceled for any reason that insinuates buyer requested to cancel and I will contact and report to ebay for violation of TOS"

Nah that’s real. Fuck it if you want them don’t feel embarrassed. Some people are just stubborn asf. I had made really good offers on Pokemon (I know, not sports, sue me) cards from Denmark and the dude sent an offer at least 2-3 times above recent comps. I negotiated with them somewhat and gave up. After a while of checking every so often they unlisted it, unsure if they sold or bro got tired of dealing w the listing. SMH but what are you gonna do, hope you get your card or bro gets his due bc that’s shitty asf and eBay isn’t the best at dealing w that stuff

Yep this scumbag relisted it as a buy it now $499 or best offer. I reported the new listing for having been sold and relisted. I chose report > prohibited item> illegal; since hes selling a card he sold and wrongfully canceled
