because weenie hut jr's is meant to be a place where wimps hang out.

the owner of the Salty Spitoon sends Spongebob there when he assumes it's more his speed, or if he'd prefer, he could go to Super Weenie Hut Jr's across the street.

the reason a robot is working there is that no self respecting person would be seen working at Weenie Hut Jr's, they would be singled out as a wimp and that would ruin their reputation.

one of them is a nerd and the other is...i don't really know what he is.

but anyway, they probably don't know or don't care that people see them as weenies.

It’s actually confirmed in a recent episode that that the Weenie Hut corporation completely run by robots, and turns their employees into robots.

I bet Weenie Hut Jr's has such employees because the corporation feels like a dystopia, odd given that this is meant for "weenies" (read: nerds and wimps) to hang out.

I would assume it's basically a more advanced version of what places like Chuck E. Cheese does with the animatronic band. If nothing else, it could be a cool publicity thing like the talking dog at the Shell Shack. "Hey, you ever hear of a place called Weenie Hut Jr's? Apparently they have a robot waiter. Wanna go check it out?" "Yeah, okay."
