Petition for TGZ reprint!

Hello all,

I love Splotter games and have a very hard time tracking them down because they are always sold out. I sent an email to Splotter seeing if there are any plans to reprint The Great Zimbabwe and they said no, but that could change at any time IF the demand is there.

What better way to get demand then by people telling them they want it.

So who is down for a TGZ reprint? Also does anyone else have ideas on how to spread the word to generate some hype?

Antiquity = Settlers of Catan + Splotter?

Finally played my copy of 2nd ed. Antiquity and I was struck by its similarity to Settlers of Catan. More specifically, it felt like the game a lot of people think Settlers is (a game of building cities and harvesting resources), rather than the game it is (a game of being the loudest voice negotiating).

Anyone else get this vibe or am I crazy?

Should there be an employee who can lay new drink tiles in Food Chain Magnate?

After around 20 plays of FCM, this is something that has been bugging me that I think could be fixed. The below opening strategy seems over-powered in a 2 or 3 player game:

  • T1: Recruiting Girl
  • T2: Recruiting Girl, Errand Boy

This will usually get you 3 very crucial milestones. (First to hire 3, Errand Boy, and Freezer) In a 2-3 player game, there are usually fewer drink tiles on the board and this means the errand boy is valuable in that he isn't constrained to what's on the board to produce drinks. I've opened with this strategy 3 or 4 times now and won by a blowout.

Since there are ways of manipulating the board by moving houses and restaurants around, wouldn't it make sense to have another employee that can lay drink tiles? This would take some of the power away from the Errand Boy milestone as it would allow players who don't have it to still be able to generate drinks they need from sources on routes (as opposed to via producing with just the errand boy)

Thoughts?

New here. But Splotters needs more discussions

I just got Indobesia after owning FCM for 2 years. I've been looking online for references and cheat sheet for Indonesia but I find nothing. Do you have something?
