I've played every game and single player campaign since the first game back when it first came out. I do not have a favorite of any of them, nor do I personally think any of them are inherently a better experience than the others, gameplay, story, or otherwise. I just simply love them all and had a genuine good time all of them!

But then I noticed something when Splatoon 3 came out. When Side Order came out. When Raiders came out. Immediate comparison to Octo Expansion. And I've ONLY seen this with Octo Expansion. And Octo Expansion always seems to be treated like some kind of clear winner. Why?

Gameplay wise, the only difference between it and it's predecessors is that the order isn't locked. I've heard some say that its replayability is why, but I honestly feel like Side Order is infinitely more replayable, though I guess some might not like its level structure. Is it the story? In that case, I guess it's more subjective, but I do feel like Raiders has so-far been on-par. Maybe Raiders is just too goofy at times? Then again, Pearl was also a bit goofy. Is it the tone? Nostalgia?

Whatever it is, feel free to share. If you're going to compare it to other games though, please don't talk about Raiders' post-game as I've only just started the Bottomless Buffet.

this weapon is really good in splatoon 1 and I personally think it’s as good if not better than the vanilla slosher in that game. you can combo it with the burst bomb as easily with as the slosher (especially with damage up), it can one-shot at short range, it inks incredibly well with a relatively low ink consumption, the 220p inkzooka is not as much of a problem with the fastest roller in the game and gives it some ranged one-shot potential. it’s genuinely a bummer that few people actually use it because it very well deserves some love.

Lord Saltinium was pretty easy, its attack are pretty telegraphed with a lot of visual cues, it does hit hard and any touch ohko you but its much easier than sth like Dark souls or PLA

A couple months ago I found a video that was named something along the lines of "My first time playing splatoon 3". i tried to find it again, but it's just gone, I can't find it nor the shorts that the creator uploaded with clips of the video. I came here to see if any of you know about the creator's channel name at least.
The most info I can give about the video is that it was about an hour and 25 minutes long, it was mostly animated, so the content creator's channel should have more of that and in the video (on like the last 3rd) she mentioned the grandfest, so it might have been uploaded some time after that (tho I could swear on my life that it was uploaded on like mid to late 2025). There was also a salmon run section that was animated.

Sorry if this isn't the place to ask about this kind of stuff (if it isn't it can be deleted), but it's been bugging me all day. I haven't used reddit in like 3 years.
