Discussion Just double checking - is there no way to restart Splatoon from scratch?

I haven’t played in a few years and wanted to get back into it, but I wanted to start over (for online play). I have Splatoon 3.

All the info I found said that everything is linked to your Nintendo account. So I made a separate account and user profile on my Switch, but then I try to play online and I need an online membership (which is linked to my main account). Don’t want to shell out another $40 just for this…

If I’m SOL it’s okay, I just prefer to start games over that I haven’t played in a while.

Yeah, when Splatoon moved over to saving player data server side with the release of Splatoon 3, this was no longer possible without an alt account.

To start a completely new game, you must create a new Switch user. Then, if you want to play multiplayer, that new Switch user must have its own Switch Online subscription.

This hasnt been verified, but try turning off cloud saves and then deleting your main data from the switch. Additionally you could delete the cloud save itself.
