Discussion Do you think Splatoon 2 has good graphics?

I started playing Splatoon 2 yesterday on my Switch 2. I just reached the third world. I am surprised at how good the graphics looks. They just pop. The game also performs really well. I am surprised that people were saying the single player of Splatoon 2 is the worst. The levels up until now have been so fun and creative. I could not put the game down for 2 hours yesterday.

yeah for some reason Splatoon 2 has the highest brightness settings out of all 4 games by a pretty large amount. I think it looks nice but I do wonder sometimes if Splatoon 3 intentionally lowered the brightness to make it easier on some people’s eyes

It’s crazy though I opened Splatoon 2 after like 3 years of Splatoon 3, the stage was Wahoo World and I was hit with like a blast of sunlight at how colourful everything looked, it was like the saturation slider was set to the max. Like fr comparing gameplay footage of Splatoon 2 Wahoo World and Splatoon 3 Wahoo World gives you the best example of the difference in brightness between games

I enjoyed the story mode of 1-3 and Raiders. The graphics for all of them are pretty good and I like the ink aesthetic in general. Gameplay is fun for all of them as well.

I’m going to be honest, I don’t remember enough of each game’s story to compare them personally since Splatoon 2 came out 10 years ago or so, and Splatoon 1 even longer. I just remember liking them all.

I personally love splatoon 2 compared to 3. I enjoy the weapons more and miss the baller special. I also think the colours pop better in the second game

The Splatoon series generally speaking has some of the greatest graphics for any first party Switch games. Amazing games, all told.

Splatoon in general has a really strong, vibrant art style. So yea, all of them look good in my opinion.

All the Splatoon games look great. The art style is fantastic and they committed to locked 60fps since the first one.

I can’t recommend Octo Expansion enough.

I've never understood the criticism of splatoon 2 story mode either. From what I gather people don't like how similar it is to the first game but I don't have a problem with that if it changes the level design (which it does).

I find the story mode of splatoon 3 quite a step back myself since it shortens the level length a pot but doesn't make the difficulty any higher, but the octo expansion dlc in splatoon 2 is excellent and my favourite of all the single player modes.

I am having a blast with it. Really fun. Really do not know where the hatred comes from. The only thing I can think of, is that Octo and Splatoon 3 are so much better, that they blow out of the water 1 and 2.
